AWHT Colour Creations #33 Pacific Point

Pacific Point with In The Moment

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are continuing to work though a focus on each of the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. Having started mid 2021 we are now up to "P".

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a delightful bright mid blue called Pacific Point. Pacific Point is part of the Brights Colour Family and is a happy blue. It is not a colour I use often but when I do I wonder why I don't use it more often. A friend said to me that she thought of it as a great colour for children, which is true; however, I believe it is a colour that could be used in many ways, including sea themes. This colour is gorgeous with Coastal Cabana and or Bermuda Bay; and great with a bright yellow or a bright pink.

Pacific Point is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Watercolor Pencils (No 1) and the Brights  Designer Series Papers as well as You Are My Anchor Kit. The cards below have used Pacific Point Classic Stampin' ink, cardstock and Pacific Point Stampin' Watercolor Pencil plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces.

I have created a set of 2 cards showcasing Pacific Point. They are similar yet different:

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

CARD 1:

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

Half a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper was heat embossed with an image from the In The Moment stamp set with Silver Emboss Powder, Versamark and a Heat Gun. Using Stampin' Up!'s lovely Watercolour Pencils (pencils from both sets) the image was coloured and water applied with the small Water Painter to spread the colour and develop depth and highlights. The Pacific Point pencil coloured the woman's dress as well as the sky. As you would image, only a little colour was applied to the sky to attain a very light blue. It is worth noting that Stampin' Up! colours can be full strength as in the card-stock but the inks, in their various forms, can be used to attain many lighter shades.  The water-colour panel was left to dry.

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

The water-coloured panel was die cut with the largest plain circle die in the Layered Circles set of dies. Given the style of the card I decided to not use the largest scalloped die but the same round largest circle die to cut a circle of Pacific Point card-stock. It was cut in half and mounted behind the watercolour panel, stretching the blue pieces so some becomes visible.

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

A piece of Basic White card-stock was embossed with the new Gingham Embossing Folder. A strip of Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper was adhered to the embossed background. In turn the background was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Pacific Point card-stock and then to the Thick Basic White card-stock base. The mounted water-coloured panel was added with dimensionals.

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

A sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Pacific Point Classic Stampin' ink onto Basic White card-stock and then fussy cut into 2 pieces. The beginning of the sentiment was added to the card front while the second part of the sentiment was used on the card inner. A bow was tied using the White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and added with Glue Dots. Some delightful Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added around the sentiment.

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

Another image from the same In The Moment stamp set was stamped in Pacific Point ink on the Basic White card inner and a strip of the same DSP was added as well as the second part of the sentiment.  The C6 Basic White Envelope also was stamped with the same stamp in Pacific Point ink.

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

CARD 2:

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

The same process and many of the same products were used to create the other card.  Some differences were:
  • a different design of DSP from the same packet of DSP, ie Abstract Beauty DSP;
Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.
  • different twine was wrapped around the card background at the edge of the DSP. This was the Silver Simply Elegant Trim. It was also used to tie a bow that was added to the side of the water-coloured panel.
Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.
  • The water-coloured panel was cut into a rectangle before being mounted onto a slightly larger piece of Pacific Point card-stock.
Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.
  • A different sentiment from the same stamp set was trimmed down and also cut into sections, with the latter section added to the card inner.
Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

The card inner was prepared in the same way, with the same stamp but the strip of DSP matched the card front. The envelope is also stamped the same.

Live 'in the moment' and be kind to yourself - rest & relax. It's an important sentiment to share with a personally crafter card.

Thank you so much for dropping by. I do value that you spent time with me.

AWHT Colour Creations #32 Old Olive

Old Olive with Daffodil Daydream

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the third Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a muted olive green called Old Olive. Old Olive is part of the Regals Colour Family and is a delightful versatile green. I love this green which works beautifully with various colours including So Saffron and Pool Party. My card uses Old Olive, So Saffron, a little Daffodil Delight and some Mango Melody. A second card had been planned that was going to include Pool Party but ran out of time given interruptions.

Old Olive is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, Watercolor Pencils and the Regals Designer Series Papers as well as Artfully Composed, Beauty of the Earth & New Horizons Designer Series Paper. There is also Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon &  Faux Sea Gloss shapes. The card below has used Old Olive Classic Stampin' ink, card-stock,  and Stampin' Blends plus a range of other non-OO bits and pieces.

Here is my card showcasing Old Olive:

Tell a friend how amazing they are with a personally crafted card.

I have created this card for a special friend how has gone the extra mile, well actually, the second and third mile to help me deal with a difficult situation. She is amazing.

CARD 1:

Using the colours depicted in the photograph shown above, the process commenced with blending colour on 3 different pieces of Basic White card-stock. Using Stampin' Up!'s brilliant Blending Brushes, Old Olive Classic Stampin' ink was applied ensuring a mottled effect was achieved. Half of another piece of card-stock was coloured very lightly with So Saffron ink; and the other half was coloured with So Saffron and Daffodil Delight ink to gain a darker mottled effect. The third pice of card-stock was coloured with So Saffron, Mango Melody and a touch of Calypso Coral with half being a lighter mottled blend and the other half a darker mottled blend. The Daffodil dies were used to cut out the daffodil pieces and leaves.

Tell a friend how amazing they are with a personally crafted card.

A Basic White piece of cardstock was embossed with the Stitched Greenery die. A piece of the Sale-a-bration Friendly Hello 12"x12" DSP was used for the card front and was mounted on a slightly larger piece Old Olive card-stock. This panel was popped up on Dimensionals.

Tell a friend how amazing they are with a personally crafted card.

The slightly darker pieces that were die cut to create daffodils were adhered to the coordinating lighter petals. The flowers were formed and then the leaves, buds & flowers were arranged. There was a lot of fiddling as I am no flower arranger. The daffodils were adhered with Dimensionals.

Tell a friend how amazing they are with a personally crafted card.

A bow was tied with a double piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding and a piece of Linen Thread was coloured with a dark Old Olive Stampin' Blend and tied around the bow knot into a bow. The bow was attached with Glue Dots.  A sentiment from a Saleabration stamp set "Special Moments" was stamped in Versamark ink on Old Olive card-stock and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. A few delightful Brushed Brass Butterflies were scattered around as the final touch. They are absolutely gorgeous embellishments.

Tell a friend how amazing they are with a personally crafted card.

A singe daffodil/leaves and a couple of butterflies were stamped in Old Olive ink onto a card-inner piece of Basic White card-stock. A thin strip of the same DSP as used on the card front panel edged the left side of the card inner. The C6 Basic White Envelope also was stamped with a daffodil and butterfly in Old Olive ink.

Tell a friend how amazing they are with a personally crafted card.

CARD 2:

As mentioned, my plan to create a second card didn't eventuate. I did stamp daffodils from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set in Smoky Slate Classic ink and colour them with a number of Stampin' Blends. While I have the coordinating dies I wasn't at my workstation and didn't want to get up so decided to fussy cut them out.

Tell a friend how amazing they are with a personally crafted card.

This was as far as I was able to get to enable this blog to go live in time. They won't go to waste. Keep an eye out, as I will use them in a coming project.

AWHT Colour Creations #31 Night of Navy

Night of Navy with Awesome Otters

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 2021-2022 Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a beautiful deep navy blue called Night of Navy. Night of Navy is part of the Neutrals Colour Family and is a delightful versatile blue. I so love this blue which works beautifully with various colours including Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight

Night of Navy is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, Watercolor Pencils, Soft Pastels Assortment and the 2020-2022 Neutrals Designer Series Papers as well as Beauty of the Earth, Sweet Symmetry, Abstract Beauty, In Good Taste Designer Series Papers & the Ombre Speciality Paper, Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack, Abstract Beauty Cards & Envelopes & the Love, Santa Tag Kit. There is also Night of Navy twine as part of the Fan Bakers Twine, Resin Stars Embellishments, the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels & Blue Adhesive Backed Gems. The range of products available underscores the versatility of this colour. The cards below have used Night of Navy Classic Stampin' ink, Cardstock, Stampin' Blends Combo and a Stampin' Write Marker plus a range of other non-NoN bits and pieces.

Here are my cards showcasing Night of Navy:

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

As you can see the cards are same, same, but different. I had a number of ideas of how I would showcase Night of Navy. It is such a versatile colour. I wonder how everyone else are using this fantastic colour.

CARD 1:

Night of Navy, as a deep blue made me think of water. From there I thought of the new Sale-a-bration stamp set "Awesome Otters".

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

This card is a simple fancy fold, with flaps folding in from either side. I took advantage of this fold by die cutting a circular hole in the front panel to showcase part of the design on the second flap as it peeps through the hole to combine with the little otter and sentiment on the front panel. A piece of Basic White card-stock was dry embossed with the 3D Bark Embossing Folder before layering on the front. The largest circle from the Layering Circles die set was used to cut a central hole.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

The second panel has a piece of Vellum card-stock that was coloured with Stampin' Blends and Isopropyl Alcohol. The Blends were Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay combo packs, ie Light and Dark in both colours. The Blends were scribbled over the centre of the Vellum. The Isopropyl Alcohol was spritzed over with a Stampin' Spritzer.  Then the colour design was formed through blowing. While you could blow through a straw, in our COVID safe world I used a manual bulbous blow tool (not sure what they are called). Once dry, a little more alcohol was spritzed to create a look of bubbles.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

The otters were stamped in Momento ink on to Basic White card-stock and coloured with Stampin' Blends, ie Soft Suede, Crumb Cake combos, a touch of Light Night of Navy for the eyes and part of the fish and Daffodil Delight & Night of Navy for the fish and the party hats. Of course I also used the Colour Lifter to add more shading & highlights. The otters & hats were all fussy cut. A little Wink of Stella was added to the fish.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

Some extra white squiggles were added by White heat embossing. The front sentiment was White heat embossed on Night of Navy card-stock, where as the inner sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy Classic ink. Adhesive Backed Sequins add a little shimmer. It is amazing how they adapt to the colours around them. The final touch was some splattering - the card front with Light Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay Blends, where as the 2nd flap's splatters were added with some White Craft ink mixed with a little Wink of Stella and flicked using the medium Water Painter over the inner design and the Night of Navy inside flap.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

The card inner was splattered with both Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay Dark Stampin' Blends. The navy came out strongly an ended up more dominant than planned. You know how it is - you flick and flick again and can hardly see anything for your efforts and then with a third flick it goes everywhere in solid splotches. Sigh!. A little otter was also stamped in Momento ink. A C6 Basic White envelope was stamped with one of the otters in Momento ink.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

CARD 2:

The second card also has aVellum panel with the same type of Stampin' Blends colouring with Isopropyl Alcohol. This was attached to a piece of Basic White card-stock with Adhesive Sheet. This was much easier that attaching the Vellum with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue as I did with the previous card.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

The Thick Basic White card front had a Bark 3D Embossed panel of Basic White card-stock adhered. Some White Bakers Twine from the Essentials Bakers Twine pack was wrapped around twice and tied in a bow. Dimensionals were added to the centre panel to pop it up.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

One of the otters was stamped, coloured and fussy cut in the same way as the first card. It was added with Dimensionals. The sentiment from the same stamp set was heat embossed in White on to Night of Navy card-stock and then cut into strips that also were popped up on Mini Dimensionals.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

A little splattering was added with Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Markers. After my earlier experience I thought I would play it safe with the Markers. A few of the oh so gorgeous Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for a delicate touch of sparkle.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

The Basic White card inner was decorated with an off-cut of coloured Vellum and an extra coloured otter. A Basic White C6 envelope was also stamped with another otter in Momento.

A custom made card says so much more than the sentiments alone communicate as they are made with love.

I did enjoy creating these cards to share. Hmm, well, I enjoyed most of the creative process. It was one of those sessions where I regularly muffed up, including adhering the Vellum upside down and as I tried to take it back up and re-adhere - glue went everywhere; mis-stamping on occasion, splattering issues, dropping things, loosing things ... the list could go on. Have you ever had one of those days - or is it just me???

Thank you so much for dropping by. I do value that you spent time with me.

AWHT Colour Creations #30 Mossy Meadow

Mossy Meadow with Blessings of Home

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the first Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022. I hope you have had a great Christmas and New Year and are ready to make the most of 2022.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a deep muted olive green called Mossy Meadow. Mossy Meadow is part of the Neutrals Colour Family and is a delightful versatile green. This green which works beautifully with various colours including Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia and So  Saffron.

Mossy Meadow is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, Soft Pastels Assortment and the 2020-2022 Neutrals Designer Series Papers as well as Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper & For the Guys Kit. The card below has used Mossy Meadow card-stock, Classic Stampin' ink, Stampin' Blends and a design of the Beauty of the Earth DSP that showcases MM plus a range of other non-MM bits and pieces.

Here is my card showcasing Mossy Meadow:

Send floral Blessings of Home to someone you love

For the layout I decided to use the current Global Design Project Challenge which is to CASE the designer, ie Connie Collins. Here is her card.

Rather than cut strips for the background, I decided to paint water-colour stripes using Mossy Meadow Classic ink and the thick Water Painter on Shimmery White card-stock. Once dry the striped piece was passed through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder

Send floral Blessings of Home to someone you love

The background was cut from a piece Beauty of the Earth DSP that looked like a darker wash a Mossy Meadow. While you can't see the design, various tones of the green can be seen around the border. The DSP was adhered directly to a Mossy Meadow card-stock card base.

Send floral Blessings of Home to someone you love

The smaller floral spray from the Blessings of Home stamp set was stamped a few times in Momento Black ink onto Basic White card-stock. The images were coloured with Stampin' Blends, ie Mossy Meadow, Soft Sea Foam, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia and So Saffron Stampin' Blends combos. The floral sprays were fussy cut with my Snips and flowers and some leaves were individually cut out.

Send floral Blessings of Home to someone you love

The white side of a doily from the Heart & Home Doilies pack was layered onto the water-coloured stripes. The coloured floral spray and extra flowers/leaves were arranged over the doily and adhered with either Tombow Multipurpose Glue or Dimensionals. A sentiment from the Blessings of Home stamp set was stamped in Momento ink onto Basic White card-stock. The lines of the sentiment were cut apart and only the first two lines were added to the card front with Dimensionals. This card front was added to the card base with Dimensionals.

Send floral Blessings of Home to someone you love

Some linen thread was coloured with the Dark Mossy Meadow Blend. Some of the thread had been wrapped around the card front a couple of times over the doily and before the flowers were arranged, however, the sentiment and flowers cover all but the bow, so it would have been sufficient to just add the bow under the sentiment with a Glue Dot. The final touch was the addition of some delightful Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels. They are in the new Jan-June Mini Catalogue and are soooo beautiful.

Send floral Blessings of Home to someone you love

The small flower spray was stamped on a piece of Basic White card-stock with Momento ink and a thin off-cut strip of the water-coloured stripes was added to one side of the card inner. A C6 Basic White envelope was also stamped with the floral spray in Momento ink. I do like to simply decorate both the card inner and the envelope to coordinate with the card front design.

Send floral Blessings of Home to someone you love

I have had a range of things happen of late so wasn't sure if I would have a chance to create for this Blog Hop, but ... I didn't want to miss it.  I really appreciated the inspiration of the Global Design Project Challenge #324.

Thank you so much for dropping by. I am so delighted that you spent time with me.
