AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop #30 Lemon Lime Twist

Lemon Lime Twist with Forever Forrest

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a bright yellow green called Lemon Lime Twist. Lemon Lime Twist is one of the Brights Colour Family. I used to think this green was extremely bright, but the introduction of Parakeet Party has toned it down in my mind. This colour is lovely for leaves / trees, and anything needing bright greens.

Lemon Lime Twist is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin’ Blends; Brights Designer Series Paper as well as Bright & Beautiful, Zoo Crew, and Glorious Gingham DSP; White Centre Speciality Paper; Bright & Beautiful Memories & More Cards, and Cards & Envelopes; Confetti Birthday Kit, Ribbon Duo Combo Pack, & Tinsel Gems Four Pack.

Lemon Lime Twist ink and Stampin’ Write Marker have been used in the creation of this project plus a range of non-Lemon Lime Twist bits and pieces.

My chosen colour combo are the colours of the current Global Design Project Challenge - #GDP421. I’m not sure whether I will enter this card or whether I will have an opportunity to create something new. As always, members of their Design Team have created wonderful projects.  Our own Vicki Boucher is the Guest Designer and she has created a gorgeous card.

When I was thinking about a design for this colour, I thought of trees and then I saw Tammy Wilson, one of Stampin’ Up!s current Artisans, who was Guest Designer this month with the Crafty Carrot Co, demonstrate a technique she uses to colour Basic White card-stock and then punch or die cut elements. I love the effect so decided to use her technique with the Forever Forrest dies. As you can see from the photo below that includes some left over coloured card-stock, Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin’ ink was applied to Basic White card-stock with a Blending Brush and Pool Party was similarly applied with some overlap. Water droplets were liberally splattered all over. The coloured panel was left to dry and before both White Craft ink and a Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker were splattered all over the panel.

Different sizes of detailed die trees from the Forever Forrest dies were cut from this panel, with some from the Lemon Lime Twist section and a couple from the two-colour section. I so love the colour variation on the die cuts.  Some mountains (from the same set) were die cut from Basic White card-stock. Clouds were cut from White Textured Shimmer Paper and stars (Stars at Night dies) from the Holographic Trio Speciality Paper.

A Basic White panel was lightly blended with Pool Party. A little water was splattered and a Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker added a little splatter. Mountains were added with Dimensionals and some extra mountains were tucked in behind. The latter had a little light Lemon Lime Twist blending applied.  The Lemon Lime Twist trees were either adhered directly with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or popped up on Mini Dimensionals. The clouds and stars were also added either with Mini Dimensionals or with Glue.

The largest tree was decorated with a number of Poppy Parade Iridescent Adhesive-backed Discs. A sentiment from the Night Divine stamp set was white heat embossed (using Versamark Ink, White Emboss Powder, the Embossing Accessories Tool Kit and a Heat Tool) onto Poppy Parade card-stock and then fussy cut out. It was popped up on Mini Dimensionals, with a double bow tied from a strip of trimmed White & Silver Sheer Ribbon tucked underneath.

The card inner was simply stamped with trees in 2nd generation Lemon Lime Twist ink on Basic White card-stock. A Basic White C6 envelope was stamped in a similar way. The card inner was mounted onto a slightly larger piece of Poppy Parade card-stock, in the same way as the card front.

Thank you so much for dropping by on you way around the Colour Creations Blog Hop. I know we are a smaller group this week but I am sure there will be so much Lemon Lime Twist inspiration.
