AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop #31 Lost Lagoon

Lost Lagoon with Wishes All Around

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a beautiful soft green called Lost Lagoon. Lost Lagoon is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a pale teal green. This colour is lovely for leaves, and anything with soft greens. It is also a delightful colour for Christmas.

Lost Lagoon is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin’ Blends; Subtles Designer Series Paper as well as Hello, Irresistible, Bright & Beautiful, Winter Meadow, Masterfully Made, One Horse Open Sleigh DSP; Snowflake Magic Speciality, Soft Shimmer Speciality, Tartan Foil Speciality; Bright & Beautiful Memories & More Card Pack and Cards & Envelopes; Boho Beach Kit, Christmas Everywhere Kit, Festive Tags Kit as well as Bordered Ribbon, Tinsel Gems Three Pack and Faceted Gems Trio Pack. Wow, that is quite a list and demonstrates the versatility of this beautiful colour.

Lost Lagoon card-stock, ink, Stampin’ Write Marker and the Snowflake Magic Speciality DSP  have been used in the creation of these projects plus a range of non-Lost Lagoon bits and pieces.

I love a wreath and so couldn’t go past the Wishes All Around bundle. Lost Lagoon is a gorgeous colour and I love it as a softer colour for Christmas so have combined them for this blog hop. My colour combo for this first card is Lost Lagoon with Basic White, Pretty Peacock, Pool Party and touches of silver and Bubble Bath.

The tree wreath stamp was coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers, using Lost Lagoon on every other tree and Pretty Peacock and Pool Party every 4th tree. I used a positioning tool so I could double stamp each individual tree to give good ink coverage. The image was cut with the coordinating die from Wishes All Around dies. Another 3 Basic White wreaths were die cut and then layered together to give some dimension.

The Basic White background panel was embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. A piece of the Snowflake Magic Speciality DSP was torn and adhered to the left-hand side. The layered Tree Wreath was adhered directly to the background.

The little sprig dies from the Wishes All Around dies were cut from Basic White card-stock and then lightly coloured with Lost Lagoon ink and a Blending Brush. A pine-type sprig from the Winter Meadow dies was used to cut the white & silver foil from the Snowflake Magic Speciality DSP.

A sentiment from the same stamp set was silver heat embossed and then fussy cut. The Silver & White Sheer Ribbon was cut in half lengthwise and tied into a double bow. The different sprigs were arranged with the bow. The final touch was the addition of silver pearls from the Festive Pearls and Bubble Bath pearls from the Blooming Pearls.

The card inner was simply stamped in Lost Lagoon ink on Basic White card-stock with a sentiment from the same stamp set and strip of the Snowflake Magic Speciality DSP was added to the side. A Basic White C6 envelope was partially stamped with the tree wreath in Lost Lagoon ink.

CARD 2

The second card also features the Wishes All Around bundle together with the Tiny Christmas Trees background die.

The colour combo for this 2nd card is Lost Lagoon with Basic White, Soft Sea Foam and touches of Berry Burst.

A Basic White card-stock panel was cut with the Tiny Christmas Trees die. I love this background die with the stylised tiny trees. Initially I had thought of having a subtle background of white on white but as I was featuring Lost Lagoon, a panel of Basic White was blended with Lost Lagoon ink and then splattered with water. I wanted a mottled background rather than a single  tone background. The coloured panel was cut slightly bigger than the die cut panel and then the latter was popped up on Mini Dimensionals, to give further light and shade.

The leafy wreath from the Wishes All Around dies cut a wreath from both Soft Sea Foam and Basic White card-stocks. Mottled Lost Lagoon ink was blended here and there over the Soft Sea Foam card-stock wreath and then Soft Sea Foam ink was partially blended over the Basic White leafy wreath. They were layered one over the other but slightly twisted to give a fuller wreath.

Little berry sprigs were die cut from Basic White card-stock and then lightly coloured with Berry Burst ink and a Blending Brush. Three little trees were stamped in Lost Lagoon ink and cut with the coordinating die.

Another sentiment from the Wishes All Around stamp set was white heat embossed onto Lost Lagoon card-stockThe other half of the Silver & White Sheer ribbon was also tied into a double bow.  Rhinestone Basic Jewels were coloured with Dark and Light Berry Burst Stampin’ Blends and then added to some of the berries on the sprigs and a few extra rhinestones to the wreath.

The card inner was simply stamped in Lost Lagoon ink on Basic White card-stock with a sentiment from the same stamp set. A couple of lightly Berry Burst coloured sprigs and a little stamped tree were added. A Basic White C6 envelope was stamped numerous times in Lost Lagoon ink with the sprig stamp.

  1. What a glorious collection of Christmas cards you'll have this year, Andrea! On your first card, I love that you popped up the wreath on two extra layers. I also really like the silver touches, and the contrast between the cleanly-cut thin strip of foiled DSP inside the card and the torn piece on the front. On your second card, I love the addition of Berry Burst (it looks so pretty with Lost Lagoon), and the little trees tucked in behind the sentiment.

  3. Andrea, what a treat to have two beautiful cards in Lost Lagoon. The little subtle touches of Bubble Bath and Berry Burst work so well on both cards. I think the first card might be my favourite as it uses both the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder and the Snowflake Magic Speciality DSP - love the torn edge!

  4. Both lovely wreath cards, Andrea. Your layering of your focal point, is always gorgeous, and the two backgrounds really change up the cards. The torn edge on your first card and the dry embossed pattern add great texture and shine. That tree die looks wonderful with the mottled/blended layer behind it slightly bigger to also create a matt layer as well as peek through!

  5. Lost lagoon is such a pretty colour for any occasion, especially Christmas. Both your wreaths have turned out so beautifully Andrea, but I too have enjoyed Wishes All Round a lot this year, so that might be my favourite.
