Heart of Christmas Blog Hop: Christmas Scottie Joy Fold

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the third to last Art with Heart Team Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2022.

So glad you are joining us for the 2022 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. I had quite a bit of fun creating a card using a couple of stamp sets from the July - December Mini Catalogue. Here is my card:

Anyone who knows me will know that I am a dog lover and so I couldn't go past the Christmas Scottie stamp set. He (or she) is sooo cute. Friends of mine have a scottie dog called Meg, so I think this card may be heading their way for Christmas. I created a simple Joy Fold card and had a bit of fun telling a short story with the 3 scottie panels using the 3 scottie images.

The Very Vanilla Thick card base was folded in the middle, then the front panel was cut in half. The edge was stamped repeatedly with the tartan style square-ish stamp in Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' ink, ensuring the edges interlocked. A strip of Evening Evergreen Glimmer paper was added partially over the stamped tartan near the edge.

The top panel of the "Joy fold" section used a piece of the Light's Aglow Speciality Designer Series Paper - this paper is so gorgeous. It was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Soft Succulent card-stock, before being mounted to the Very Vanilla folded panel. This scottie dog, and the other 2, were stamped on Very Vanilla card-stock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Black Emboss powder and a Heat Tool. This photo shows a little of the sheen and texture from the heat embossing. The collar and bow were stamped in Soft Succulent ink. The light post comes from the Caroling Mice stamp set (a Hostess set) and was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink then coloured with Stampin' Blends, ie Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Soft Succulent combos and the Colour Lifter. The sentiment was white heat embossed, fussy cut and added with Dimensionals. Some In Color Opal Rounds added a little extra shimmer.

Here is a photo of the opened inside of the card. The following photos below show some close-ups. The inner back panel has a piece of Very Vanilla card-stock embossed with the delightful Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder and was mounted onto a panel of the Lights Aglow SDSP.

The tree behind the scottie was from the Caroling Mice stamp set and coloured with Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen Blends combos

The presents were fussy cut from one of the designs in the Santa Express DSP.

The Very Vanilla inner panel was mounted on Soft Succulent card-stock, with the sentiment from the Christmas Scottie set stamped in Evening Evergreen ink. The other images from the same set were stamped in Soft Succulent ink.

When the card stands open, scottie is seen checking out the presents.

The Very Vanilla C6 envelope (not pictured) was also stamped with the Soft Succulent tartan image down the left side of the envelope.

Thanks so much for dropping by. Please forgive me for not providing all the product details, but I am at my brothers to finish this blog, as I have been without power, internet and phone for over 48hours due to a mini cyclone that went through parts of Adelaide on Saturday. I suddenly realised this morning that I hadn't finished my blog and so needed to travel to a place with power and internet, however, I forgot my catalogues, etc that usually sit next to me as I write. I am hoping my power will be back tomorrow as estimated.
