Misty Moonlight with Magical Meadow & Stars at Night
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week. Following this blog hop we are having a few weeks break from now into the New Year, commencing Blog Hops again on 3rd January 2024.
This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a deep blue called Misty Moonlight. Misty Moonlight is now part of the Neutrals Colour Family. It is a strong muted blue with grey undertones. This colour was introduced a few years ago as an In Colour and returned earlier this year through the colour refresh as part of the Neutrals Family. This colour is lovely for flowers, sky, water, with other blues for starry skies or snowflakes or anything requiring a beautiful deep blue.
Misty Moonlight is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin’ Blends; Neutrals Designer Series Paper as well as Countryside Inn, Earthen Elegance and Beary Christmas DSP, Flight & Airy Sale-a-bration DSP; Beary Christmas Memories & More Cards & Envelopes; Misty Moonlight Inner Braid Ribbon & Tinsel Gems Three Pack.
Misty Moonlight card-stock, ink, Stampin’ Write Marker, Winter Meadow DSP and Tinsel Gems have been used in the creation of these projects plus a range of non-Misty Moonlight bits and pieces.
The card front was created using 3 different designs of the Winter Meadows DSP. The berries and leaves were fussy cut from one of the designs. The Misty Moonlight & Blueberry Bushel watercolour design was stamped with a sentiment from the Magical Meadow stamp set using Misty Moonlight Classic Ink. Some White Craft Ink was splattered over using a Water Painter.
A double bow of a thin edge of the White Iridescent Ribbon was tucked under the sentiment label with a Glue Dot. Some Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems were sprinkled around. Now to the surprise card inner …
One of the designs of the Winter Meadow DSP is so gorgeous. The panel across the centre inside the card is the full 12” width of the DSP. It was cut a tad less than the height of the card and then scored, folded and burnished so that it would concertina fold in the centre. The 2 end panels were adhered directly to the card base.
Sentiments from the Hope & Peace Stamp set were stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and then die cut with Stylish Shapes dies.
CARD 2
As mentioned above, I love Misty Moonlight and think it’s wonderful for skies, so I thought I try to create a water-colour sky - but with smooshing. Then pair it with the Stars at Night dies. The end result is a bit “different”.
Misty Moonlight ink was dabbed onto a large stamp block and water was misted over it with a Spritzer. I used a cellophane bag that wrapped a new set of dies to smoosh into the diluted ink and then touched it onto a panel of Basic White card-stock. This was repeated. It needed something else so I smooshed some Bubble Bath ink as well. After the panel dried, it needed some darker sections so some darker smooshing was added, but this time the cellophane was crumpled.
The card inner was simply Basic White card-stock with the left over starburst, a holographic star and a thin left over strip of the smooshed card background. I had intended to stamp a sentiment inside the card but forgot until the card inner was already adhered in place - and I wasn’t going to take the risk then! That being the case, a sentiment from the same stamp set was added to the Basic White C6 envelope with Misty Moonlight ink.
Thank you so much for dropping by on you way around the Colour Creations Blog Hop. I know there will be so much Misty Moonlight inspiration as you continue around the blog hop.
To continue with the Misty Moonlight blog hop just click the "next" graphic below to be taken to the blog of a fellow South Australian, Di Furniss. I am looking forward to checking out Di’s creation(s). I wonder if it will be a fancy fold? I do love seeing everyone’s' projects - it is always worth checking in on everyone.
I do hope to see you the first Wednesday in January when we will be featuring Mossy Meadows as we continue the weekly 2023-2024 Colour Creations Blog Hop series.
Stay well, stay safe and be kind to yourself and others.
