CASE a Project featuring Designer Series Paper meets Peaceful Garden
Hello, Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and #527 Challenge with CASEing the Catty.
I am so glad you have dropped by. You may have come from Peta Stephen, as you take this week’s Blog Hop or perhaps arrived directly here; either way I am delighted you are here. At the end of my blog, I have linked to Rebecca Scurr so you can continue with the Blog Hop.
At CASEing the Catty we love to use the samples from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues and On-line Exclusives as inspiration and each week we have a different theme to guide our CASEing. To CASE is to "Copy And Selectively Edit" or some say "Copy And Share Everything". This week we are CASE-ing projects from in the 2025-26 Annual Catalogue or for On-line Exclusives that feature Designer Series Paper.
There is so so much choice this week. Also, as we are in July, I have started thinking about preparations for Christmas so I CASEd the party banners shown on page 87 of Stampin’ Up!s Annual Catalogue and have created a banner to hang up at home during the Christmas Season.
I will need to create 2 banners but so far only have the first one finished. Here is the first Banner:
I have designed the banners to hang across 2 bookshelves in my living room. The first banner says “LOVE JOY” while the second banner will say “& PEACE”. The background banner pieces were die cut from two designs in the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper. This suite will be found in the coming September-December Mini Catalogue. I do love blues for Christmas as well as the more traditional reds and greens, so have fallen in love with this suite. Demonstrators had early access to the suite for Stampin’ Up!s Creativity Now event.
This project was ALL die cutting. The wonderful Party Banners die set made cutting out the banner pieces so simple. The letters were die cut from the dark Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper. Some doves and foliage were cut using the Peace on Earth dies using both Basic White card-stock, Cloud Cover and Misty Moonlight two-tone papers from the Peaceful Garden pack of two tone paper.
Here is a couple of close-ups of the lettered banners. I couldn’t resist adding a little splatter in either Cloud Cover or Misty Moonlight Classic ink. The banner dies comes with dies to cut holes in the two top corners of the banners as well as hole protectors to protect the banner from tearing when threading a ribbon or twine through the holes. I used the oh so gorgeous Iridescent Striped Ribbon to hold the banner flags together as well as to hang the whole banner up.
I loved using the foliage and doves to decorate the letters - simple and effective. I’m hoping the 2nd banner will be created over the next few months, when I have some spare time. (Hee hee)
Thank you so much for calling in on your way around the CASEing the Catty Crew Blog Hop for Challenge #527.
Don’t miss any of the inspiration from this creative CASEing The Catty Crew. The next blog in the hop is by the lovely Rebecca Scurr, our wonderful leader.
