AWH Heart of Christmas #18

Christmas with Merry Moments

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 18th Art with Heart Team 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop

So glad you are joining us for this Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. After creating the first card I decided to create the second - more standard design - using the same colours and products. It wouldn't take as long as most of the decisions had been made. It was fun playing. I hope you like them:

These cards feature the Merriest Moments bundle which includes stamp set and coordinating dies as well as the Merriest Frame Hybrid Embossing Folder. This EF embosses a gorgeous design and also fits one of the dies so that card-stock can be embossed and die cut at the same time - its very clever and only the second of its kind produced by Stampin' Up!

CARD 1:

This card uses the die cut and embossed piece in a different way to the standard use of the bundle. Three Basic White card-stock pieces were cut with the more detailed die and each was embossed with the coordinating EF. A Stampin' Up! Blending Brush was used to apply Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' ink to the edges of the die cuts. The die cut leaf edges were cut away from the rest of the panel.

A piece of Mint Macaron card-stock also had some Mint Macaron ink blended over the edges. The frame edge pieces were arranged and adhered around the edges with the leaves facing inwards. A second partial layer of leaves also was added to cover some edge gaps and provide greater balance of design.

A mid sized flower from the Merriest Moments stamp set was stamped in Blushing Bride ink. While I fussy cut it out there is a coordinating die as well. The 3 smaller flowers were also die cut a couple of times with coordinating dies from Basic White card-stock and a few from Silver Foil from the Silver Foil Speciality pack. The white die cut flowers were coloured using a Sponge Dauber and either Polished Pink or Misty Moonlight inks.

The flowers were arranged and adhered in place with only the stamped flower popped up on a Dimensional. A sentiment from the stamp set was stamped in the centre of the card front in Evening Evergreen ink using a Stamparatus. (I didn't want the sentiment to go array after the work in the leaf boarder.) A piece of silver Simply Elegant Trim was tied in a bow and tucked under the larger flower with a Glue Dot. Rhinestone Basic Jewels were scattered around including as flower centres.

A Basic White card inner was decorated with 3 little die cut flowers and a Basic White C6 envelope was stamped in Blushing Bride ink with the larger of the stamped flowers.

CARD 2:

This second card used the same colours and products. As you can see the cards are similar but different.

The Merriest Frames Embossing Folder was used to emboss the background and a Basic White card-stock die cut and blended frame was placed directly on top with glue only on the centre section. A stitched rectangular label was cut with a stitched die from the same set.

A sentiment from the stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink on to the label and then it was heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. The label was popped up on Dimensionals.

The small stamped flower was stamped in Polished Pink ink, and to try something different, a piece of Basic White card-stock was heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder and then die cut with the tiny floral dies. While I have used this technique previously, it is interesting to compare it in the same crafting session with the foil die cut flowers. The flowers and other products were added in a similar manner to Card 1. The card inner and envelope were also given a touch of coordinating bits and pieces.

  1. The silver touches are a beautiful complement to the soft colours you've used on your cards, Andrea. The first card looks like it was a lot of work, but the end result is gorgeous. You've showcased the versatility of the Merriest Moments bundle beautifully!

  2. Two sensational cards Andrea, but the way in which you have used the embossed sections of the diecut on card 1 is genius. Your colour scheme is so pretty too.

  3. Andrea both of your versions of this design are gorgeous and I really like the fresh take you've given to this bundle with card one, in particular. I don't think I've seen this bundle used this way before.
