Heart of Christmas Blog Hop: Decorated with Happiness
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the second Art with Heart Team Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2022.
So glad you are joining us for our 2022 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. I have enjoyed creating a card using Christmas products from the new July - December Mini Catalogue. Here is my card:
I am still trying to include water-colouring into my projects created during July, to acknowledge Water-colour Month. A piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper was cut in half to create 2 long thin pieces. One of the pieces was wetted all over with water. Using the wide Water Painter, Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' ink was applied at the bottom of the panel using side to side swipes across the panel working upwards and lightening the colour as you go. Then Soft Succulent Classic ink was applied at the top of the panel with the same painting action. Extra water was added so Soft Succulent ink could drip down the panel. This water-colouring was subtle and dried even lighter. Before the panel had fully dried, it was passed through a Cut 'n Emboss Machine with a pine embossing folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder set.
The water-colour panel was mounted on strips of Gold Foil with a thin edge showing on both long sides. The panel was similarly mounted on strips of Evening Evergreen card-stock allowing some to show on either side. A piece of Lights Aglow Speciality DSP was mounted directly onto the Soft Succulent card-stock base. The centre water-coloured panel was mounted on Dimensionals.
Pine branches (large and small) were die cut from Evening Evergreen card-stock using dies from the Decorated Pines dies. A little White Craft Pigment ink was daubered onto some edges of the pine branches. Two baubles were die cut from a Gold Foil sheet using dies from the same set. These pieces were arranged and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a couple of Mini Dimensionals.
A bow was tied using Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon that had been sliced in half lengthwise. A bow of Gold Simply Elegant Trim was tied around the knot of the ribbon bow. This layered bow was adhered in place with Glue Dots. A sentiment from the Hope & Peace stamp set was heat embossed on Evening Evergreen card-stock using Versamark, White Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. The sentiment was fussy cut. Some Festive Pearls were added for a touch of shimmer.
Two strips of the same Lights Aglow Speciality DSP were added down the 2 long edges of a Basic White card inner. An extra Evening Evergreen Pine branch was adhered and a sentiment from the coordinating Decorated with Happiness stamp set was stamped in Soft Succulent ink. A pine branch from the same stamp set was stamped on a Basic White C6 Envelope in Soft Succulent ink and a tad of the Evening Evergreen ink.
