Heart of Christmas Blog Hop: Window Wishes Luminary Easel Card

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the next Art with Heart Team Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2022. 

So glad you are joining us for our ninth 2022 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. My card uses the Window Wishes bundle and the Hope & Peace stamp set for the sentiments. Here is my card:

 

I had yet to ink the Window Wishes stamp set so I decided to use this bundle for my card this week. As my thinking developed, I thought about creating a luminary card and determined to create it as an easel card. To do this a Thick Basic White piece of card-stock was scored and burnished and 2 other panels of Basic White card-stock were prepared for the card front. One  panel was centred over the other card front and the window die from the coordinating Window dies was used to cut a window shaped hole in the same place in both pieces. The same die was used to cut a window hole in the card base.

The top panel was embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and the window frame was embossed with the Timber 3D embossing folder. Some Snowflake Speciality Vellum was laid between the 2 top panels and the window die cut pieces layered on top.

The wreath stamp from the Window Wishes stamp set was stamped in Parakeet Party Classic Stampin' ink with touches of Evening Evergreen ink applied with a Sponge Dauber. It was die cut with the coordinating die and a also bow was die cut from Cherry Cobbler card-stock. The finer pine frond and pinecone large die from the Christmas Pinecone dies was used with Basic White card-stock. The pine fronds were coloured with a mix of Parakeet Party and Evening Evergreen inks using Stampin' Up!s delightful Blending Brushes. The pinecones were coloured with Crumb Cake ink. The pieces were carefully separated using my Paper Snips and then arranged at the base of the window as if it was siting in a window box. The wreath and bow were adhered together and then placed behind the Speciality Vellum.

A piece of Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon was coloured with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend and then it was tied into a triple loop bow before being attached with Glue Dots. Some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were also coloured with the Cherry Cobbler Blend and a few were sprinkled amongst the pine fronds. I had hoped to stamp and colour a couple of little birds but time was short so three Brushed Brass Butterflies were added. 

Inside the card a half panel of Basic White Brickwork embossed card-stock was adhered near the bottom. Three thin strips of Basic White card-stock were adhered one on top of the inner embossed panel and an extra strip was Timber 3D embossed  before being adhered on top. These layers will act as a stopper to allow the decorated front panel to stand like and easel. A rectangle remaining from the window die cuts was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink with a sentiment from the Hope & Peace stamp set. The label was centred on the inner embossed panel and popped up on Dimensionals. Three extra coloured Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels finished this panel.

As any personal message written on the top section of the card inner could be seen through the Vellum window pane, the back panel of the card (that would be the bottom when the card forms an easel) was prepared for a personal message to be written. A panel of Basic White card-stock was stamped with the wreath stamp and a Cherry Cobbler card-stock bow added on top. The sentiment "Merry Christmas" was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink. A C6 Basic White envelope was also stamped with the wreath and the sentiment.

The only thing left to do is show a picture of the Window Wishes Luminary Easel card with a little battery tea light glowing through the window. Thank you so much for dropping in.
