Soft Sea Foam with Sentimental Park Fancy Fold
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week. You may a come to me from my Blog Hop colleague, the talented Rachel Woollard.
This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a pale green called Soft Sea Foam. Soft Sea Foam is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a gorgeous colour. I love the subtles. This colour is lovely when used for leaves, sea themes and so much more. It works with many colours.
Given the beautiful DSPs that include Soft Sea Foam I decided to create a fancy fold with one of the SSF designs. I was going to create another simple fancy fold with the Fancy Flora DSP but time just disappeared. Thick Basic White card-stock was scored, cut and burnished. Soft Sea Foam card-stock was cut as mounting pieces. Hello, Irresistible DSP and Basic White card-stocks were cut to size. Pieces were layered and adhered in place.
The Basic White pieces had been stamped with the cross-hatch stamp from the Sentimental Park stamp set using Soft Sea Foam Classic Stampin’ ink. Flowers and leaves were die cut from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. The leaves were water-coloured with Soft Sea Foam ink and the flowers with Flirty Flamingo ink, ensuring variation of depth. I chose Flirty Flamingo as it was one of the colours featured in the Hello, Irresistible DSP.
One of the largest single flower shapes was layered with 2 smaller flowers. A number of other flower shapes had another flower added on top and the rest remained single. The leaves and flowers were positioned and adhered in place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Loose Frosted Dots (Daffodil Delight) were adhered to the centre of most of the flowers plus some Flirty Flamingo dots were centred on some others, to add some interest.
A sentiment from the Sentimental Park stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink onto Soft Sea Foam card-stock and then heat embossed using White Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool. The sentiment was fussy cut out. I was planning to have “let’s celebrate YOU” but the full sentiment didn’t seem to work, so the “YOU” was left off and later added to the back panel that was designed for a personal message. The sentiment was added with Dimensionals plus 3 extra Flirty Flamingo Loose Frosted Dots.
The envelope itself was stamped with “let’s celebrate” across the bottom in Soft Sea Foam ink. A few flowers were stamped on a side. It was similarly stamped on the back flap as well. I love the look of the card when it is folded up and it looks quite different when opened. It would be a lovely card to give to a special friend for her birthday.
Thank you so much for dropping in. I do value your time with me.
I hope to see you next week, for the second to last Blog Hop in this series, when we will be featuring Soft Succulent, one of the retiring 2021-2023 In Colour family, as we draw close to the end of the weekly 2022-2023 Colour Creations Blog Hops.
Stay well, stay safe and be kind to yourself and others.

Wow, a fabulous fancy fold card. The Irresistible paper is beautiful. I hadn't noticed it in the Online Store!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning fancy fold, Andrea! I love the look of the card when it is folded up too and I also love the way you've stamped your envelope.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fancy fold design and colour combination, Andrea. I hadn't noticed this paper either, but it is so pretty. Great variation in the tones of the Flirty Flamingo flowers too!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you've mixed the paper and stamp sets around to create your fabulous fancy fold card.
