Christmas with Night Divine
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.
This week I am showcasing a Night Divine stamp for a couple of Christmas cards. When I first saw this stamp set, and especially the sentiment used tonight I envisaged it being used in a similar way to Card 1. Then, when planning for this blog hop, I also thought of using the sentiment with multiple coloured embossing.
CARD 1
I love the Night Divine stamp set and especially this larger sentiment. The fonts are gorgeous and look wonderful when heat embossed.
A Basic White panel was coloured using Balmy Blue, Boho Blue, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath Classic Stampin’ inks and some Stampin’ Blending Brushes. The blended panel was given a little time to dry before applying the Embossing Buddy, stamping the sentiment in Versamark ink and sprinkling with White Emboss Powder from the Basic Emboss Powder pack. The powder was shaken into the embossing tray from the Embossing Additions Tool kit. Some water was splattered over the embossed panel with a little Wink of Stella for some sparkle.
The sentiment panel was cut with a Scalloped Contour die and then mounted onto slightly larger panels of Basic White and Balmy Blue card-stocks. A piece of White Glittered Organdy ribbon was cut in half lengthwise, wrapped around the mounted panel and tied in a bow. A panel of Basic White card-stock was embossed with the Stars at Night 3D Embossing folder and then mounted onto a Balmy Blue card base. A little splattering of both Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Write Markers was applied to the background panel.
The sentiment panel was adhered with Dimensionals in the centre of the embossed background. The final touch was a sprinkling of Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels.
A Basic White card inner was stamped with a flurry of stars from the coordinating stamp set - Stars at Night. The same stamping was applied to a Basic White C6 envelope.
CARD 2
The second card is similar but different with the same colour scheme.
The same sentiment was stamped on 5 panels of Balmy Blue cardstock, while each was heat embossed with a a different colour Emboss Powder, including White, Black, Gold, Silver and Copper Emboss Powders. The sentiment was die cut with the second largest rectangular die from the Radiating Stitches dies. It needed to be cut twice to shorten the die cut panel. A little Balmy Blue ink was blended over the edges, however, when the sentiment panel was laid out with the other parts of the card, the blending looked to dark so some White Craft ink was blended over the edges to soften the colour.
A piece of Basic White card-stock was coloured with Blending Brushes and the same inks (as listed above minus the Bubble Bath ink). This panel was cut with the largest Radiating Stitches die. Some water was splattered over the panel. Later some White Craft ink was also blended over the edges as it looked too dark when the pieces were layered together. The background panel was mounted onto a larger Balmy Blue card-stock panel and then onto a Basic White card base.
Each of the sentiments were cut into appropriate sections. One section from each of the different emboss colours were combined to create the full sentiment. They were adhered in order to a piece of Window Sheet using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The Window Sheet was trimmed to size. The sentiment panel was mounted to a Basic White panel with Dimensionals. The edge of a piece of White Iridescent ribbon was cut away and tied around the sentiment panel. A double bow was adhered in place with Glue Dots. A scattering of Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels provided some extra shimmer.
Basic White card-stock was stamped in the same way as described above, however, it was then mounted onto a slightly larger piece of Balmy Blue card-stock before being adhered to a Basic White card base. The Basic White C6 envelope was also stamped in the same way as described above.
As you may have guessed, I have enough sentiment pieces to create another 4 similar cards. That will be a task for another day. I am likely to try different blended colour combos, etc to give each card an element of uniqueness.
Thank you so much for spending time with me on my blog. I so appreciate you.

The size of that sentiment is perfect as a focal point on a Christmas card, Andrea. I love the softness of your colour choices, and especially like the composition of your first card. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning cards Andrea. I struggle to use these large sentiment stamp’s effectively, but you’ve done a wonderful job. The colour scheme you’ve used is delightful too
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Andrea and love the idea of multi-panels embossed with different coloured embossing powders. I love the soft watercoloured panels and the colour combination you have used.
ReplyDeleteYour water coloured panels are so ethereal and dreamy, Andrea. Simply stunning! And how good does the Radiating Stitches dies look on the second card? I love them both, but I think the first card might be my favourite.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards Andrea with the first being my favourite. I just love the blended background but also love the look created by splattering the water.
ReplyDeleteThose colours are so soft and beautifully blended, Andrea. The water splatters look great and make it look as thought you watercoloured the entire background. That large sentiment looks great on both cards, I can't choose a favourite.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, the colour blended panels on each of your cards are so pretty and I love the colour combinations. The sentiments are absolutely perfect for heat embossing. I love the white, but what a fabulous idea to mix the embossing powder colours for your multi coloured one. Your cards are always so beautifully executed.
ReplyDeleteOh just lovely Andrea your blended colours are beautiful. I love this sentiment which is just so perfect for your design. Both cards are gorgeous!
