AWHT Colour Creations #10 Blushing Bride

Blushing Bride with Cup of Tea, Jar of Flowers and Happiness Abounds

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a light pink called Blushing Bride. Blushing Bride is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a soft pretty colour. This colour is gorgeous when used with other subtle colours including Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron, etc. It is also lovely withVery Vanilla & Gold and works really well with Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake or Smoky Slate.

Blushing Bride is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Subtles Designer Series Paper, Awash in Beauty, Gingham Cottage  & Happy Forest Friends DSPs and the Brushstroke Speciality Paper as well as A Million Thanks Kits and Celebrate Today Magnet Board Kits. The card below has used Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' ink and Card-stock plus a range of other non-BB bits and pieces.

Wish a special friend Happy Birthday or tell them how wonderful they are with a personally created card.

I started off with a plan to create 1 card but during the creation process decided to re-watercolour the tea cup pieces to a different colour and didn't want to waste the Blushing Bride tea cup set so created a second card as well.

Card 1:

Tell a friend how wonderful he or she is with a personally created card.

The Cup of Tea bundle is delightful. I wasn't sure about it initially but am sold on it now. There are so many ways it can be used. I started with a soft blended background using Pool Party Classic ink and a Blending Brush on Basic White card-stock. Looking at the photos, I wonder if the background could have been a tad darker - what do you think? This background was adhered to a Blushing Bride card-stock base.

Tell a friend how wonderful he or she is with a personally created card.

As July is Watercolour month I decided to use a couple of water-colour techniques. Some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper was die cut with the full tea cup die and the detailed tea cup die using the Tea Cup dies. A wet on wet water-colour technique was used to colour both pieces with the mid-sized Water Painter and Sahara Sand Classic ink. I so love watercoloring die cut pieces. Two arrangements of flowers from the Jar of Flowers stamp set were heat embossed using Versamark, White Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun on Shimmery White card-stock. The floral arrangement was coloured with Blushing Bride, Soft Sea Foam and Sahara Sand Classic inks. The arrangement and individual flowers were fussy cut.

The pieces were arranged and adhered with either Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Dimensionals and Glue Dots - my favourite adhesives. The little Basic White card-stock tag die cut was coloured with Blushing Bride ink and a Blending Brush and a little die cut Blushing Bride heart was added on top - both die cut using the Tea Cup dies. The sentiment came from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and is white heat embossed on Blushing Bride card-stock. A White Bakers Twine bow and some delicious Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels added a special finishing touch.

Tell a friend how wonderful he or she is with a personally created card.

A tea cup from the Cup of Tea stamp set was stamped in Blushing Bride ink onto the Basic White card inner. A couple of left over die cut hearts were added. A Basic White C6 Envelope was also stamped with the same tea cup stamp in Blushing Bride ink.

Tell a friend how wonderful he or she is with a personally created card.

Card 2:

This second card uses the same colour scheme, same stamp sets and dies as the first card, so I won't repeat the full details described above.  I want to acknowledge inspiration from Susan Wong, a New Zealand Demonstrator, Artisan and member of the Crafty Carrot Collective #TheCraftyCarrotCo. I saw Susan create a Christmas card using the Cup of Tea bundle and loved her creation so was inspired to CASE a number of aspects of her card.

Wish a special friend Happy Birthday with a personally created card.

The Pool Party background was sprinkled with some water to add interest. I so love the way Stampin' Up!s Classic inks interact with water and show where droplets have landed. A couple of thin strips from the Awash in Beauty DSP added some interest in Blushing Bride behind the background piece at both top and bottom. This background was adhered directly to a Sahara Sand card-stock base.

Wish a special friend Happy Birthday with a personally created card.

The Blushing Bride water-coloured tea cup was added with Dimensionals. Some little buds from the same floral arrangement used in card 1 were water-coloured with Blushing Bride ink and the leaves with Soft Sea Foam. I am thinking of giving this card to a friend who is a Tea Sommelier with an online Speciality Tea business and as a few of her teas include petals I thought flowers needed to be included in some way. The flowers and leaves were fussy cut - a bit fiddly as they were so tiny. The tea bag tag was die cut from Basic White card-stock and coloured with a little Sahara Sand blending. A tiny Blushing Bride die cut heart was added to the tag.

Wish a special friend Happy Birthday with a personally created card.

A sentiment from the Happiness Abounds stamp set was white heat embossed onto Blushing Bride card-stock and a piece of Sahara Sand Natural Finish ribbon was added underneath. A few die cut hearts were positioned to represent steam coming from the tea. Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels were sprinkled around to give some shimmer.

Wish a special friend Happy Birthday with a personally created card.

Thank you so much for dropping by. I do value the time you spent with me.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase - #8 Calypso Coral

Calypso Coral and Jar of Flowers

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Showcase. I am so delighted you have dropped by. This week we are focussing on "Calypso Coral", a rich, soft pinky orange that sits within Stampin' Up!s "Subtles" range.

As you know, one of the great points of Stampin' Up!s products is the way Stampin' Up! coordinates colours and takes a colour through a range of products. This week's project has used Calypso Coral card-stock, Classic Stampin' ink pad, Stampin' Blends Combo and Artistry Blooms SequinsCalypso Coral also is in: Stampin' Write Markers, Watercolour Pencils, a range of Designer Series Papers and the Simply Citrus Card Kit.

Calypso Coral is a gorgeous colour and could be used in may ways. I had numerous ideas for projects for this Showcase, but have only had time to create one project, an arrangement of flowers using one of the Jar of Flowers stamp set floral sprays. I chose the sunflower spray as the sunflowers could also be interpreted as gerberas. I love gerberas and would love to plant some in my garden including those in a Calypso Coral colour.

I started by stamping the sunflower - or should I say, gerberas spray from the Jar of Flowers stamp set in Gray Granite Classic ink four times on Whisper White card-stock. I coloured the arrangements using Stampin' Blends Combos, ie Light & Dark Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive. Once brought to life with colour, the arrangements were fussy cut.

The card base was cut from Calypso Coral card-stock. I played around a bit before landing on the card front and eventually decided on the blended Gray Granite design from the gorgeous In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP). This panel was embossed with the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder before being mounted on Petal Pink card-stock

As the basis for the floral arrangement, one of the Forever Gold Laser-cut Speciality Paper decorated labels was cut in half and adhered to the card front. The flower sprays were arranged and a label decided on. The label was cut from matching Calypso Coral card-stock and a sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.

As some of the flowers were going to be covered by the arrangement, they were fussy cut out. The sprays of flowers and individual flowers were either adhered directly to the card front or popped up on Dimensionals/Mini Dimensionals and the label was added with Dimensionals. Calypso Coral sequins from the Artistry Blooms Sequins were added as a finishing touch. The mounted card front was added to the card base with dimensionals.

I love to add ribbon or a trim in some form to my projects and so coloured some of the Braided Linen Trim with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend so a bow could be added, however, when I tried the bow on the card, with and without a tie around the card front, I realised it really didn't add anything ... so decided to leave it off. Part of the design process is deciding what to add and what to leave off. You can see the bow sitting to the side in the last photo below.

To link the card inner to the card front design, the sunflower spray was stamped in Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' ink. The envelope was stamped in a similar way.

Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase - #6 Bumblebee

Bumblebee with Celebrate Sunflower and Jar of Flowers
(NB Amended Blog with second card added)

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 6th Art With Heart Colour Creations Showcase.

This week we are hero-ing one of the new In Colours for 2020-2022Bumblebee. The In Colours are around for 2 years and their aim is to add colours that are 'on trend' to ensure the colour range is always up to date. Bumblebee is a deep yellow towards mustard.  As I have said previously, I do love the way Stampin' Up! coordinate colours and take a colour through a range of their products. In my project I have used Bumblebee in card-stock, Classic Stampin' ink pad, Stampin' Write Marker, 2020-2022 In Colour ribbon and 2020-2022 In Colour Enamel Dots. There are also Bumblebee products in:
          • Classic Stampin' Ink Refill
          • In Colour 6x6 Des
            igner Series Paper (DSP)
          • 1/4" (6.4MM) Gingham Ribbon
          • Flowers For Every Season DSP
          • Flowers For Every Season Memories and More pack
          • Ornate Garden Speciality DSP

I use yellow to complement other colours, but I would not normally reach for a yellow as the key colour. However, I have really enjoyed creating with Bumblebee - it is a great colour that communicates "happy" and "sunshine". My first thought when planning my project was to use Sunflowers and that is what I have done. I have used the gorgeous Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and have water-coloured the focal sunflower and accompanying leaves.

Bumblebee Celebrate Sunflowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

I started with a Whisper White card front and stamped sunflowers and leaves all in Bumblebee ink on the left hand side and base. I masked the sunflowers to ensure there wasn't overlap and to give subtle dimension. The focal sunflower was stamped onto Shimmery White card-stock in Bumblebee ink. This flower was water-coloured using a Blender pen and Bumblebee, Mango Melody and Cinnamon Cider inks and finished with a Bumblebee Stampin' Write Marker. The leaves were coloured with Pear Pizzaz and Granny Apple Green. Before adhering the focal sunflower, I used a Light So Saffron Blend and the Colour Lifter Blend around the stamped images on the card front to add a soft background effect that fades out to the white. The sentiment came from the same stamp set and was stamped in Mango Melody ink to blend in with the Mango Melody used on the flower. I used my brilliant Stamparatus to ensure the sentiment went on straight.

Bumblebee Celebrate Sunflowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

The In Colour Ribbons are soft 1/4" twill - beautiful to create with and they form a bow easily. A piece of  Bumblebee ribbon was tied around the card front with a bow. To finish off the card a few Bumblebee Enamel Dots were added.

Bumblebee Celebrate Sunflowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

A sunflower also was stamped on the Whisper White card inner and as you may have noticed in the first photo, the sunflower also was stamped in the envelope.

Bumblebee Celebrate Sunflowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

I had hoped to create two cards for this blog, but couldn't have the blog ready in time and the second card finished so the blog initially went live with one card. Not to be beaten I finished the card the next day and uploaded it late afternoon. I hope you like it.

Bumblebee Jar of Flowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

My second card is still featuring sunflowers, but from a different stamp set, the Jar of Flowers set. The card base for this card is Thick Whisper White card-stock. The card front uses one of the papers from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), ie the one that looks like off-white rough plaster. It was dry embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder. The photos don't show the colour play from the DSP. It looks great. This was mounted on Bumblebee card-stock showing a very fine mount.

Bumblebee Jar of Flowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

The sunflower arrangement from the Jar of Flowers stamp set was stamped three times in a line on Shimmery White card-stock in Sahara Sand ink and then coloured with the same colours as used for the first card, with the addition of Highland Heather ink for the different flowers in the floral arrangement. The edge of the flowers was fussy cut. A couple of extra arrangements were also stamped and coloured on a seperate piece of card-stock with select flowers fussy cut out. A strip of Bumblebee card-stock was stamped repeatedly with the twigs stamp in Bumblebee ink. The fussy cut piece of sunflowers was added to the card with dimensionals and the stamped strip of Bumblebee card-stock was adhered on the left hand side. A piece of Bumblebee Gingham ribbon was wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow. The fussy cut individual flowers were added either directly or with Mini Dimensionals. The card front was then adhered to the card base. A sentiment from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink on Bumblebee card-stock and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss powder. The sentiment was then fussy cut and added to the card with Mini Dimensionals. Three In Colour Enamel Dots were added as finishing touches.

Bumblebee Jar of Flowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

The card inner was stamped with the same sunflower arrangement in Sahara Sand ink and a thin strip of Bumblebee card-stock was adhered on the edge. As you may have notice in an earlier photograph, the envelope was stamped in Bumblebee ink using the same stamp.

Bumblebee Jar of Flowers Stampin Up card, Andrea Sargent, Independent Stampin" Up! Demonstrator, South Australia

I so enjoyed creating these cards. I love adding colour to stamps using a range of techniques and had fun water-colouring using a Blender pen. Bumblebee is such a happy colour and it made me happy as I created with this gorgeous colour.
