AWHT Colour Creations #23 Just Jade

Just Jade with Whimsical Trees & Expressions in Ink

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a delightful green called Just Jade. Just Jade is part of the In Colours for 2020-2022 and is a lovely colour for leaves, trees and sea themes to name a few. It is also a great green for Christmas. In working with this beautiful colour I kept wondering why I haven't been using it more.

Just Jade is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends; the 2020-2022 In Colours & Sweet Symmetry, Bloom Where You Planted, Expressions of Ink Designer Series Papers; Love Santa Tag Kit; Festive Felt Combo; Just Jade Gingham ribbon within the Flowers for Every Season Combo pack and Just Jade & Gold Braided Ribbon. The cards below have used Just Jade Classic ink, Just Jade Stampin' Blends and the Expressions in Ink Speciality Designer Series Paper plus a range of other bits and pieces.

Here are my cards heroing Just Jade:

Send Happy Christmas greetings to friends and family with much love coming through a personally created card designed by Andrea Sargent in Australia.

CARD 1:

The 1st card has water-coloured Just Jade Classic Stampin' Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, which was then die cut with the squat tree die from the Christmas Tree dies.

Send Happy Christmas greetings to friends and family with much love coming through a personally created card designed by Andrea Sargent in Australia.

The little squat tree from the Whimsical Trees stamp set was also stamped on Basic White card-stock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. It was die cut with the same open die.

The card front was dry embossed with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder. As this slim-line card front was wider than the embossing folder, it needed to be passed through the Cut & Emboss machine a second time. I used a Bone Folder to soften the embossed line from the edge of the second pass of embossing. The line can still be noticed, but it isn't as obvious.

A thin strip of Expressions in Ink SDSP was adhered to the LHS of the card front and a piece of Gold Simply Elegant Trim was tied around the card-front near the SDSP. The die cut trees were adhered with Dimensionals in a row just above the centre of the card front. I placed a strip of card-stock along the card front to help straight placement of the trees and then removed it.

A sentiment from the Heartfelt Wishes stamp set was stamped in Just Jade ink on to some Basic White card-stock and fussy cut. The sentiment also was popped up on Dimensionals. Some Elegant Faceted Gems were coloured with a Light Just Jade Blend and added around the sentiment.

The Basic White card inner has a thin strip of the Expressions in Ink SDSP to one side and a row of the little squat tree was stamped along the bottom. A custom made envelope with be created from DSP - but I ran out of time so that will be a task for tomorrow.

CARD 2:

This second card is not a traditional Christmas card, but I so, so love the Expressions in Ink SDSP with the Just Jade, Evening Evergreen, Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz and Shaded Spruce and Gold colour combo. It is so rich and beautiful.

Send Happy Christmas greetings to friends and family with much love coming through a personally created card designed by Andrea Sargent in Australia.

The SDSP was cut to card front size and then die cut with the curved stitched die from the Basic Boarders dies. A piece of Basic White card-stock was also cut to size and adhered underneath so that this piece would hold itself flat when it was popped up on Dimensionals. A piece of Basic White card-stock was dry embossed with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder (I needed to add something Christmassy).

The word "happy" was die cut 4 times from Basic White card-stock and then adhered one on top of the other. Layering of the gave the same level of dimension as using Dimensionals. The word "Christmas" from the coordinating Words of Cheer stamp set, was stamped in Just Jade ink and trimmed down with the Trimmer. It was adhered to part of the die cut happy.

Rhinestone Basic Jewels were coloured with a Dark Just Jade Blend and added around the sentiment. As my brother is not into lots of Christmas trimmings I thought he may appreciate this card so I refrained from adding ribbon/trim, etc and thought I would leave it simple-ish - well simple for me.

Send Happy Christmas greetings to friends and family with much love coming through a personally created card designed by Andrea Sargent in Australia.

I used the stitched concave section left from cutting the front section of SDSP for the card inner, but only just realised that I had forgotten to add a sentiment within the concave area - oops. That will be another task for tomorrow. Just as well I have a Stamparatus. It is ensure stamping a sentiment on a completed card will go well. I would hate to mess up the card at this point. I ran out of Basic White C6 envelopes so will add them to my next Stampin' Up! order. When the envelopes arrive I will add some coordinating SDSP to the flap.

AWH Heart of Christmas #15

Christmas with Snowflake Wishes & Words of Cheer

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Team 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop

It's wonderful that you are joining us for this Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. Creating  Christmas cards is a happy experience, especially with the fabulous Stampin' Up products. I had some ideas for this week's card, but ran out of time and so I am sharing a couple of cards I created after recently watching Emma Goddard during one of her Card & a Cuppa sessions, where she demonstrated the masking technique with blending and stamping.  I have a 3rd card part created, but it didn't fall neatly into place and requires some fiddling with placement etc. I will try to upload it here over the next few days. Here are my two completed cards - I hope you like them:

As my time has completely disappeared with today's commitments extending longer than planned, I won't be going into all the details of how the cards were created and with what, but will just summarise key aspects. Please contact me if you have any queries.

Both cards used the masking technique where a piece of paper was torn in half and then placed over the card front with a space in-between. One of Stampin' Up!s gorgeous Blending Brushes was used to colour the Basic White card-stock in-between the torn edges. The first card used a mix of Fresh Freesia, Pool Party and Balmy Blue Classic Stampin' inks

Before lifting the masking paper some snowflakes from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set were stamped in the same colours was the blended background, but as they were stamped the colours are more intense.

A sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Balmy Blue Classic ink. A large snowflake from the Wonderful Snowflakes embellishment pack was positioned with other die cut snowflakes, cut using the So Many Snowflakes die set from the paper used for the snowflake embellishments. The snowflakes were finished with Blue Adhesive-backed Gems at the centre.

Both the card inner and a C6 Basic White envelope were stamped with flurries of small snowflakes using the same ink colours as listed above.

Card 2: The second card used the same masking and stamping technique, but a different stamp set, ink colours and embellishments.

The blended coloured panel was created using Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin ink and the poinsettia arrangement from the Words of Cheer stamp set was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink over the masked and blended area.

The sentiment came from the same stamp set and was also stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I love the richness of this colour for Christmas. The same poinsettia arrangement was stamped twice more on a seperate piece of Basic White card-stock and holly leaves were stamped in Garden Green Classic Stampin' ink. There was an infill stamp for the leaves that was stamped in second generation stamping, ie stamping off first.

The poinsettias on the seperate piece of card-stock were coloured with Stampin' Blends, ie Flirty Flamingo, Cherry Cobbler and the Colour Lifter. The poinsettias were fussy cut, as was the tiny holly leaves. Some gold threads that came from a piece of disassembled Cherry Cobbler & Gold ribbon were adhered to the card front and the poinsettias and holly leaves were arranged over it. Champagne Basic Rhinestone Jewels were added to the centre of each layered poinsettia.

Both the card inner and a C6 Basic White Envelope were masked and the same blending and stamping were added to an edge of each to tie them in with the card front design.

Thank you so much for spending time with me on my blog.

Christmas with Words of Cheer

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Team 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop

So glad you are joining us for this Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. I love creating for Christmas and had fun with this week's card. I hope you like it:

Sending Words of Cheer to wish you a Happy Christmas by Andrea Sargent from Australia.

This week I have CASEd one of the layouts of cards shown on page 54 of the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue. I also CASEd the colour scheme of the Whimsy & Wonder Suite (page 25). The Stampin' Up! Catalogues are such great sources of inspiration for our projects.

After trimming a piece of Mint Macaron Designer Series Paper from the delightful Whimsy & Wonder Speciality DSP it was adhered to a Basic White card front. The poinsettia spray and extra holly leaves from the Words of Cheer Stamp Set was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. Initially 2 poinsettia sprays were stamped and heat embossed with the idea of creating a duplicate card to add to my card stash, however, as you may notice, I ended up fussy cutting the second floral spray so I could layer elements.

The floral spray & extra holly leaves was coloured with Stampin' Blends, ie Polished Pink, Flirty Flamingo (there isn't a Blushing Bride Combo so I mainly used Light Flirty Flamingo), Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron Combos and my trusty Colour Lifter. The floral sprays were die cut with the coordinating Christmas Cheer dies, but I later fussy cut some of the elements of the second spray.

Some of the luscious Mint Macaron Soft Velvet Ribbon was laid across the diagonal join between the Mint Macaron DSP and the Basic White card-stock with some Silver ElegantTrim. The coloured poinsettia spray was tucked under the ribbon together with extra holly leaves, Silver Foil die cut sprigs and other bits and pieces. Two fussy cut poinsettias were layered over the coordinating flowers to add interest and dimension. I tried to show the dimension in the photo below but the focus of part of the photo is out - my apologies.

The word "happy" was die cut from Silver Foil (from the Silver Foil pack). This was layered with a number of Basic White card-stock die cut "happies" to give dimension without the need of fiddling with cutting up Mini Dimensions. I added some Adhesive Sheets to some Basic White card-stock to make the layering easier. The "Christmas" sentiment, both from the coordinating bundle, was stamped in Mint Macaron Classic Stampin' ink. A double bow of Silver Elegant Trim (which comes in a pack of both Silver and Gold Trim) was added with a couple of Glue Dots and number of 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels were scattered, ie as flower centres and near the sentiment.

The card inner was created with a piece of Basic White card-stock, the off cut of Mint Macaron DSP and bits and pieces from the fussy cut extra floral spray together with a length of Silver Elegant Trim. A C6 Basic White Envelope was stamped with the poinsettia spray in Mint Macaron ink on the back flap and partially on the front. I do like ensuring a level of coordination on the envelope as well. It just adds that extra touch of coordination.

I did enjoy creating this card to share. I love, love, love the colour scheme of the Whimsy and Wonder Suite and suspect it will be my main colour scheme for this coming Christmas. The Christmas Cheer dies are amazing - the style of the word "happy" is so gorgeous. I am looking forward to playing further with this bundle.
