AWH Heart of Christmas Blog Hop #13

Christmas with Peace On Earth & Ornamental Christmas

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and our last Art with Heart Team Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2025. We have been sharing Christmas inspiration each Monday evening until tonight, 24th of November. How can Christmas be a month away?

I created 2 cards to share with you tonight, however, now have little time for the blog write-up so it will be brief tonight. The designs for both cards came to mind as I was creating something else so am delighted to share them with you here.

CARD 1

This card is built from the Peaceful Garden Suite, including the Peaceful Days Sticker Sheet and the stamp set. The Sticker Sheet was created for scrapbooking but the stickers can also be used for card-making too.

A panel of embossed Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper was adhered to a Cloud Cover card-stock base.  The panel had been embossed with the Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder and a Basic White Label was die cut using the Branching out dies.

The sentiment came from the Peace On Earth stamp set and was white heat embossed on Secret Sea card-stock. A tree from the Ornamental Christmas stamps was used on the accompanying envelope.

Two of the trees from the Peaceful Days sticker sheet were used on the card front. Some of the beautiful silver Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments were scattered and a little Cloud Cover splattering.

The beautiful Cloud Cover ribbon was tied around the card front near the card fold, ending in a bow. As mentioned, some trees were stamped onto a Basic White C6 Envelope in Cloud Cover Classic ink.

CARD 2

The gorgeous Modern Christmas Speciality Designer Series Paper includes a sheet packed full of Gold baubles. A number of baubles were fussy cut and then coloured with Classic inks and Mini Blending Brushes.

One of the "B" side designs from the Peaceful Garden DSP was dry embossed with the Soft Waves 3D Embossing folder before being adhered to a Cloud Cover card-stock base. A little White Craft ink was blended in the centre to give a sense of light & dark.

The coloured baubles were arranged and most were popped up on Dimensionals. A Basic Black Journalling Pen drew the strings to hang the baubles.

The sentiment came from the Ornamental Christmas stamp set. It was white heat embossed onto Secret Sea card-stock and then fussy cut. A bow of Black & Gold twine was tucked under the sentiment. The final touch was a sprinkling of gold Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments.

Some of the same Peaceful Garden DSP was added to the envelope flap to coordinate with the card. A couple of extra baubles were added inside the card.

Thank you so much for dropping in tonight and across the last few months for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. I so appreciate your time with me. I hope you enjoy a blessed Christmas.

CASEing the Catty #539 - CASE the Peaceful Garden Suite

CASE Peaceful Garden Suite meets Peace on Earth

Hello, welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea & #539 Challenge with CASEing the Catty.

I am so glad you have dropped by. You may have come from Julia Quinn, as you take this week’s Blog Hop or perhaps arrived directly here; either way I am delighted you are here. At the end of my blog, I have linked to Rachel Palmieri so you can continue with the Blog Hop.

At CASEing the Catty we love to use the samples from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues and On-line Exclusives as inspiration and each week we have a different theme to guide our CASEing. To CASE is to "Copy And Selectively Edit" or some say "Copy And Share Everything". This week we are CASE-ing the projects found on pages 32-36 of the 2025 Stampin' Up! September-December Mini Catalogue.

I CASEd the card on the bottom left hand side of page 32. Check out my card below. I have specifically CASEd the layout, water-colour background and splattering but used different colours and converted it into a Christmas card. I couldn’t resist embossing the background.

As mentioned, the background was water-coloured with Strawberry Slush & Timid Tiger Classic Stampin’ inks on Fluid 100 Paper and then embossed as the background was drying using the Traditional Wreath 3D Embossing Folder. Splatters were added with Strawberry Slush and Timid Tiger, plus some white using the White Craft Ink re-inker. It was adhered to a Strawberry Slush card base.

The label was cut from Basic White card-stock using a smaller die from the Branching Out dies. Noticing that the label in the original card was from coloured card-stock, a very light covering of Strawberry Slush was blended over the die cut label. A dove from the Peace on Earth dies was cut from Basic White card-stock and the leaves from Gold Foil.

A sentiment from the Peace on Earth stamp set was gold heat embossed directly onto the label. The gold twig in the doves beak carries the gold through.

A little, now retired, White Iridescent Striped ribbon was tucked under the label with a loop and tail showing. Some Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems were scattered around as the finishing touches.

Inside the card a Basic White piece of card-stock had a little light Strawberry Slush blended over a corner and the other die cut dove was adhered in place. The sentiment came from the Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera Pack. A Basic White C6 envelope was stamped in Strawberry Slush ink with a different sentiment from the Peace on Earth stamp set. A little blending was added to the edge.

Thank you so much for dropping in on your way around the CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.

CASEing the Catty #527 - CASE DSP Projects

CASE a Project featuring Designer Series Paper meets Peaceful Garden

Hello, Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and #527 Challenge with CASEing the Catty.

I am so glad you have dropped by. You may have come from Peta Stephen, as you take this week’s Blog Hop or perhaps arrived directly here; either way I am delighted you are here. At the end of my blog, I have linked to Rebecca Scurr so you can continue with the Blog Hop.

At CASEing the Catty we love to use the samples from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues and On-line Exclusives as inspiration and each week we have a different theme to guide our CASEing. To CASE is to "Copy And Selectively Edit" or some say "Copy And Share Everything". This week we are CASE-ing projects from in the 2025-26 Annual Catalogue or for On-line Exclusives that feature Designer Series Paper.

There is so so much choice this week. Also, as we are in July, I have started thinking about preparations for Christmas so I CASEd the party banners shown on page 87 of Stampin’ Up!s Annual Catalogue and have created a banner to hang up at home during the Christmas Season.

I will need to create 2 banners but so far only have the first one finished. Here is the first Banner:

I have designed the banners to hang across 2 bookshelves in my living room. The first banner says “LOVE JOY” while the second banner will say “& PEACE”. The background banner pieces were die cut from two designs in the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper. This suite will be found in the coming September-December Mini Catalogue. I do love blues for Christmas as well as the more traditional reds and greens, so have fallen in love with this suite. Demonstrators had early access to the suite for Stampin’ Up!s Creativity Now event.

This project was ALL die cutting. The wonderful Party Banners die set made cutting out the banner pieces so simple. The letters were die cut from the dark Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper. Some doves and foliage were cut using the Peace on Earth dies using both Basic White card-stock, Cloud Cover and Misty Moonlight two-tone papers from the Peaceful Garden pack of two tone paper.

Here is a couple of close-ups of the lettered banners. I couldn’t resist adding a little splatter in either Cloud Cover or Misty Moonlight Classic ink. The banner dies comes with dies to cut holes in the two top corners of the banners as well as hole protectors to protect the banner from tearing when threading a ribbon or twine through the holes. I used the oh so gorgeous Iridescent Striped Ribbon to hold the banner flags together as well as to hang the whole banner up.

I loved using the foliage and doves to decorate the letters - simple and effective.  I’m hoping the 2nd banner will be created over the next few months, when I have some spare time. (Hee hee)
