AWHT Colour Creations #18 Garden Green

Garden Green with Poinsettias and Hand Penned Petals

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a strong and rich green called Garden Green. Garden Green is part of the Regals Colour Family and is a wonderful colour for a range of leaves, grasses & the like.  This week's project was inspired by a wreath I created for the recent Heart of Christmas Blog Hop that went live a couple of days ago. Also, an amazing crafter, Emma Goddard inspired the use of the fancy fold. Emma demonstrated this particular fold at last Friday's Card and a Cuppa session.

Garden Green is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Watercolor Pencils; the Regals & Painted Christmas, Hand-penned and Bloom Where You Are Planted Designer Series Papers; and the Hand-penned Memories & More Card pack. The cards below have used a mix of Garden Green card-stock and Classic Stampin' ink, Painted Christmas and Hand-penned DSPs together with a range of other bits and pieces.

These Double Diamond Fancy Folds are fun to create and actually quite addictive - hence my 2 cards for this Blog Hop.

As I was creating the Poinsettia Wreath for my last Heart of Christmas blog post I was also thinking of the fold that I saw a couple of days prior. As the wreath used Garden Green card-stock to die cut pine fronds, I pondered how I could create a card using the same Garden Green pine fronds. With a large poinsettia and 2 minis left over from the wreath, the Double Diamond Poinsettia card became a reality.

As I already had the Real Red and Cherry Cobbler card-stock poinsettias left over from my previous project, I started by cutting pine fronds from Garden Green card-stock using one of the pine dies from the Pinecone dies set. Some leaves and bud stems were die cut out of Silver foil from the Silver Foil Speciality Pack.

The card base was made from half an A4 sheet of Garden Green card-stock. One of the designs from the Painted Christmas DSP was cut into small squares and mounted onto Basic White card-stock for each of the outer squares. The larger inner square was cut from Basic White card-stock and mounted on a slightly larger piece of Garden Green card-stock. This was adhered to the card base on the lower triangular half of this piece.

Shimmery White Embossing paste was added to the tips of the pine fronds and tips of the poinsettia flowers. All the die cut pieces were arranged and adhered with a mix of Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue on to the central focal panel and the 2 front smaller DSP diamonds. Here is a closer look from both sides.

The "Happy Christmas" sentiment was stamped in Merry Merlot ink on Basic White card-stock. This sentiment was trimmed from a larger sentiment from the Words of Cheer stamp set. (I need to tidy up my work station as products are still out from previous projects, however it was useful to have stamps, etc that could be easily grabbed for this project.)

Some Basic White card-stock was added underneath the card for a place to write a personal message. The full sentiment from the Words of Cheer stamp set was stamped in Merry Merlot. As you can see from the photo below the card is simply folded from the half sheet of card-stock and no glue holds the fold together - it holds itself once folded and standing up.

Project 2: The second card features the same fancy fold and a different DSP, which includes Garden Green as one of the colours, that is the Hand-penned DSP. I really love this DSP design - well, actually I adore the whole suite. I love the colour combinations and the sketchy water-colour effect.

The Basic White card-base was scored and folded and 4 x DSP squares were cut from one of the Hand-penned DSP designs. The DSP pieces were mounted on larger Garden Green pieces and then adhered to the outer diamonds of the folded card.

The larger focal square was cut from Basic White card-stock and mounted onto Garden Green. Before the white piece was mounted, it was dry embossed using the Hello embossing folder from the Thanks & Hello Embossing Folder set. A Blending Brush and some Soft Sea Foam ink was lightly blended over the embossed panel.

Floral stamps and a sentiment from the Hand-penned Petals stamp set were stamped in Momento ink onto Basic White card-stock. The flowers were stamped with the coordinating stamps from the stamp set using colours to match the DSP, ie Pale Papaya and Misty Moonlight. The leaves were coloured with Garden Green ink and a Blender Pen. Some extra Pale Papaya also was added with the Blender Pen. As I wanted to include some of the colouring that intentionally went outside of the line, the flowers, leaves and sentiment were fussy cut.

The flowers and sentiment were arranged and adhered with Dimensionals. A bow was tied using White Bakers Twine and the Gold Elegant Trim and some of the delightful 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels were added to give some gorgeous sparkle.

Two remaining flowers were adhered to the reverse side to add some coordinating "pretty" to decorate the personal message space.

I did have a lot of fun creating these Double Diamond cards and am really enamoured with this fold. Garden Green is a great green to work with when illustrating natures foliage. (My apologies for the photo backgrounds as it was raining and I couldn't use my usual spot; as such I set up on my front porch to use the natural light. I hope to re-photograph tomorrow - weather permitting.)

AWH Colour Creations #6 Blushing Bride

Blushing Bride with Pansy Patch & Hand-penned Petals

Hi. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week's Blog Hop is focussing on another colour starting with "B", that is Blushing Bride.
Blushing Bride is a pretty pale pink. It is a lovely colour and is part of the Subtles Colour Family.

Blushing Bride is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Hand Penned & Subtles Designer Series Papers (DSP) and Hand Penned Memories & More Cards.

I loved playing with Blushing Bride so ended up creating 2 cards to share. However, in doing so I am now running short on time to write my blog, so I won't go into as much detail as I usually do. That said, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. Here are my Blushing Bride projects:

Project 1:

I started by playing with some water colouring on Fluid 100 paper, using Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' ink and Stampin' Up!'s flat end Water Painter. In the end I cut the piece of water-colour paper into 2 and have used the piece that was pretty well coloured all over. The 2nd piece will be used another time.

Once the water-coloured paper was dry, I embossed it with a new set of decorative masks, ie the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and Shimmery Embossing Paste. I usually forget about embossing paste, but I love the effect. I'm thankful to Emma Goddard who used some embossing paste in her Facebook Live this week and reminded me to give it ago.

I hadn't used my Pansy Patch bundle and thought it would be great to showcase Blushing Bride, so I die cut pieces of Basic White card-stock using the Pansy dies to form flowers, buds and leaves. I part coloured each piece using Blushing Bride, So Saffron & Soft Sea Foam Classic Stampin' inks and sponge daubers. Must admit, I used a Sponge Dauber for the leaves that had previously been used with a darker green. I tried it on scrap paper and no ink was transferred so I inked it up with Soft Sea Foam, however, the colour that transferred onto the leaves was not a pure Soft Sea Foam green so I applied ink lightly as I didn't have an un-inked dauber to use. The flowers and bud were pieced together using Glue Dots.

The water-coloured panel was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Blushing Bride card-stock. Before arranging the pansies, a piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding was wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow. The flowers, bud and leaves were arranged and then adhered with either Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink on Blushing Bride card-stock and heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. A few white Elegant Faceted Gems were added as the finishing touch.

A piece of Basic White card-stock that had been pierced with the Stitched Greenery die was adhered to a Thick Basic White card-stock base. I so love the subtle and beautiful effect of this die. The card front was popped up on Dimensionals.

The card inner was created by stamping the delightful pansy and leaves in Blushing Bride and Soft Sea Foam. Another sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped in Polished Pink ink to give the sentiment added strength of colour. The card inner was mounted on Blushing Bride card-stock.

A Basic White C6 Envelope was also stamped with the delightful little pansy in Blushing Bride ink to link it to the card it will carry. (I love Stampin' Up!s distinctive stamps that give variegated levels of colour with just one step - check out the detail of the pansies on the envelope.)

PROJECT 2:

After creating the pansy card, I remembered the Stampin' Up!s Designer Series Paper Sale that is on throughout the month of July, with 15% of selected papers. It's a good deal that needs to be highlighted so you don't miss out. This was the impetus for the 2nd project. Even though I was running out of time, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to showcase at least one of the gorgeous Designer Series Papers - especially as the Hand Penned DSP is one of my favs.

One of the designs in the Hand-Penned DSP was Blushing Bride and White, so it was perfect for my card. A piece was cut to card front size. Both Basic White and Blushing Bride card-stocks were cut with one of the dies from the Basic Borders dies. Do check them out in the catalogue - they are great.

The detailed die from the Penned Flowers dies was used to die cut Basic White card-stock multiple times. The die cuts were then arranged and adhered all over the white panel, giving a subtle, though effective tone on tone effect. White Crinkled Seam Binding was wrapped around the centre and tied in a bow.

A floral stamp from the coordinating Hand-Penned Petals stamp set was stamped in Basic Grey ink twice and the flower's infill stamp was used with Blushing Bride ink. Stampin' Blends Combos were used to further colour the flowers and leaves, ie Polishing Pink, So Saffron, Smoky Slate and the Colour Lifter. The flowers alone were coloured on the second image and they were fussy cut and added over the first image to give added dimension. A sentiment from the stamp set was also stamped in Basic Gray ink and fussy cut. Pearl Basic Jewels were added to finish the card front design.

The card inner was created with a piece of the same Blushing Bride Hand-penned DSP and a large Scalloped Contours die. A Basic White C6 Envelope was stamped with the same flower, but this time in Blushing Bride ink. It doesn't need a lot of effort to bring coordination.

Thank you for visiting Valley Inspirations with Andrea. I had fun playing with some water-colouring, daubering/sponging and infill stamping/Blends colouring featuring Blushing Bride to create these projects to share.

AWH Colour Creations Showcase - In Colours

In Colours with Quiet Meadows

Hi. Welcome to a new year, well at least the first Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop. We have worked our way through all the Stampin' Up! colours and are now starting afresh as we continue to focus on each of the Stampin' Up! colours each week, working in alphabetical order. We are also changing the format of the Colour Creations Showcase to a more traditional Blog Hop style, where we move to the next participant on the list rather than follow the list of participants from the Coordinator's blog. I hope you feel comfortable with the change.

This week we are focusing on all 5 of the new In Colours for 2021-2023. Such gorgeous colours. They are Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia. While we normally focus on one colour, to sync the Blog Hop timetable with the Stampin' Up! schedule, we are working with all 5 of the new In Colours this week.

My last few days have gone a bit haywire with an unscheduled work interview and other happenings, so I will be working up to the blog's go live time. My apologies if you check in and find its not all here. (Must admit, that matches my current frame of mind - ha ha.) Phew - just completed it in time for launch!

This week I created a set of Note Cards with a Note Card Holder. Taking photographs this morning before rushing off to help a friend, I didn't realise until a little while ago when I arrived home after a hectic day that quite a number of the photos taken have not transferred through. No time to check what's happened now. Will re-photograph the missing shots tomorrow.

Here is a set of In Colour Note Cards featuring the Quiet Meadows bundle from Stampin' Up. There is a coordinating Note Card Holder, created without cutting or gluing, just scoring and folding. So cute.

I created a Note Card Holder using a piece of 12"x12" Hand Penned Designer Series Paper. There is no cutting and gluing, just scoring, burnishing and folding so you could say it was formed using Origami. My photos of the Note Card Holder have disappeared, so I will not go into a huge discussion here of how it was created, but I refer you to Rachel Tessman's U-Tube channel where late May (uploaded 6 days ago) she created a Note Card Holder and 3 Note-cards using the Bloom Where You Are Planted DSP. Rachel is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator from the USA who has recently reached the heights of 1 million dollars in sales. An amazing achievement.

The Hand Penned DSP was new to the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and is one of my favourites. It includes In Colours, like Pale Papaya.

Here is a set of In Colour Note Cards featuring the Quiet Meadows bundle from Stampin' Up. There is a coordinating Note Card Holder, created without cutting or gluing, just scoring and folding. So cute.

While the new In Colours go together well, I decided to create a set of Note Cards using Stampin' Up!'s note cards that come as a set of Note Cards and Envelopes (that's 20 cards and 20 envelopes in a pack). They are the perfect size for the Note Card Holder. I've used the Basic White Note Cards, but they also come in Very Vanilla. I need to say a big thank you to Kathryn Mangelsdorf who "saved my bacon" as when I went to create this project I could only find my stash of Very Vanilla Note Cards and no Basic White. What was I to do? It was Kathryn to the rescue. Thank you so much Kathryn.

I started each note card by cutting a Basic White card front a tad smaller than the note card. Using a Blending Brush each of the In Colours was applied to the centre of the card front and then the splatters stamp from the Quiet Meadows stamp set was stamped over the blended background and then stamped a second time without re-inking (ie stamping off).

Each of the flower and leaf dies from the Meadows dies were used with Basic White card-stock. Butterflies and 5 little labels were also die cut using dies from the same set. Aren't they delightful. The labels were each stamped with one of the In Colours. The sentiment also came from the coordinating Quiet Meadow stamp set.

Each note card had a different flower or leaf adhered over the blended background and one of the two different butterflies was also added, ensuing each note card was unique.

A piece of White twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack was tied around the card front twice ending in a bow with the little tag tied through. The note card was finished with 3 coordinating 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels. These Jewels are just delightful. They twinkle beautifully and always add a special touch.

The card front was then adhered directly to the front of the note card. The flowers from the coordinating stamp set was stamped on the coordinating envelope and inside the card with the matching colour of Classic Stampin' ink.  Sorry there is no photo of the note card inner. These photos were among those that didn't transfer, however, I am sure you get the drift.

Thank you so much for visiting Valley Inspirations with Andrea. I had fun creating this project to share. I love the Note Card Holder and am sure I will be creating more. This pack will be gifted to a hostess who has asked me to hold a class at her home soon.

Art with Heart Colour Creations Showcase - #47 Smoky Slate

Smoky Slate with Hand Penned Petals

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 47th Colour Creations Showcase by members of the Art with Heart Team. After tonight, we have 3 colours plus the new In Colours to complete our showcase of Stampin' Up!s amazing collection of colours.

This week we are showcasing a versatile colour, Smoky Slate. It is a light grey and as one of the Neutrals Colour Family, it is able to be used with so many other colours and in various ways. I love grey with pink so have chosen this as my colour combination to showcase Smoky Slate.

Smoky Slate has been produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, Designer Series Paper including the In Good Taste DSP; and the new Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon.

As I was planning for tonight's blog hop, I wanted to use one of the new bundles from the newly launched 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. I so love the sketchy nature of the Hand Penned Petals stamp set and the coordinating dies are delightful. I also wanted to use one of the Scalloped Contour dies as I wasn't pleased with the project I blogged last week and felt I hadn't shown these dies well - I wanted to redress it this week. Having made a start, I separately watched a replay of Emma Goddard's Sunday night Facebook live. One of Emma's layouts was similar to what I had in mind. I'd like to say "great minds think alike" however, I don't put myself in Emma's league. I did think of changing tack but my week has gone somewhat haywire and time was limited so decided to CASE a couple of other elements of Emma's card by adding some blending and stamping to the background as well as the positioning of the ribbon. Thanks Emma for your inspiration. You are amazing.

As mentioned, to create the background for the card front some Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' ink was applied with a Blending Brush to the centre of a piece of Basic White card-stock. A little stamping also was added using stamped-off Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' ink. This panel was then dry embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. At the same time the top Basic White panel was similarly embossed.

The Basic White background panel was adhered to the Smoky Slate card base. A mid size Scalloped Contour die was used to cut a Smoky Slate panel. The slightly smaller embossed white panel was adhered directly to the scalloped contour panel.

The floral spray from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set was stamped twice onto Basic White card-stock in Smoky Slate Classic Stampin ink. The stamped floral sprays were coloured with Stampin' Up!s amazing Stampin' Blends. The colours used were: Smoky Slate, Soft Succulent & Petal Pink combos and a touch of Light Polished Pink. I am delighted that all of the new In Colours have coordinating Stampin' Blends - I can see more colouring in the future. The 3 larger flowers were fussy cut from one  spray while the other floral spray was cut out using the coordinating die.

The 3 larger flowers were hand shaped and adhered to the full spray, with a little glue at the centre. A piece of gorgeous Soft Succulent Open Weave ribbon was tied around the centre panel ending in a bow. Then the coloured flower spray was adhered on top with Dimensionals. The whole panel was added to the centre of the card background with Dimensionals.

To finish the card front design a sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Smoky Slate ink onto a scrap of Basic White card-stock. It was fussy cut into 2 pieces and adhered with a mix of tiny pieces of Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue. My fingers felt HUGE as I tried to layer tiny pieces of Dimensionals - looking at the sentiment I had chosen I had to keep saying to myself "anything is possible"! Some In Colour Soft Succulent Jewels were the finishing touch. These jewels are amazing.

To create the card inner, the floral spray was stamped in the corner in Smoky Slate ink and a little Soft Succulent ink was lightly blended at the edges. The C6 Basic White Envelope was decorated in the same way.
