AWHT Colour Creations #37 Poppy Parade

Poppy Parade with Crane of Fortune

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are continuing to work though all the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order and are currently featuring colours whose names start with "P".

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a bright slightly orangey red called Poppy Parade. Poppy Parade is part of the Brights Colour Family. Given the slight orange twist it goes well with Yellow and is stunning with Black and White.

Poppy Parade is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, the Soft Pastels Assortment and the Brights Designer Series Papers as well as Hey Sports Fan, Pattern Party, Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper, Ombre Speciality Paper, Resin Star Embellishments, Fan Bakers Twine & a couple of Christmas Kits.  The card below has used Poppy Parade Classic Stampin' ink, Cardstock and a Stampin' Write Marker plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces.

Here is my card to showcase Poppy Parade.

Poppy Parade Chrysanthemums say "I'm thinking of you" in a specially hand created card.

CARD 1:

I had thought of featuring Black and White with Poppy Parade but remembered the gorgeous Symbols of Fortune Speciality Designer Series Paper with some of the designs using grey/white/gold so decided to give it a go with Poppy Parade.

Poppy Parade Chrysanthemums say "I'm thinking of you" in a specially hand created card.

Using my trusty Stamparatus, I marker-ed the chrysanthemum stamp with Stampin' Write markers to ink the image. Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadows were the colours used. I created 2 flower images that were die cut with the coordinating dies, Good Fortune Dies. Also, the detailed flower die cut a strand from Brushed Gold Foil.

A card front of Basic White card-stock was embossed with the splatters from the Stripes and Splatters Embossing Folders. Both EFs give great texture. The Poppy Parade Stampin' Write Marker was used to add some splatters. The embossed card front was mounted onto a slightly larger piece of Poppy Parade card-stock and in turn to a Thick Basic White card base. A smaller piece of Symbols of Fortune SDSP was mounted on Poppy Parade card-stock. A larger piece of Layering Designs Vellum was centred over the DSP. In real life, the DSP beneath the Vellum can be seen more clearly than shown on these photos.

The gold die cut and the chrysanthemum die cut were layered on Dimensionals and a sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped on Basic White card-stock with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder. I thin strip of Poppy Parade card-stock was added beneath the sentiment. Some Polished Dots were added giving a little sparkle.

A thin strip of the SDSP was added to the Right side of a Basic White  card inner and a little of the extra Chrsynthamum was trimmed and adhered to the card inner edge.  The C6 Basic White Envelope had the remaining piece of chrysanthemum adhered directly to the envelope's front.

AWHT Colour Creations #36 Pool Party

Pool Party with Daffodil Daydream and Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are continuing to work though all the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. Having started mid 2021 we are still currently working through colours starting with "P".

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a soft aqua blue called Pool Party. Pool Party is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a delightful green-blue. It is another of my favourite Stampin' Up! colours. This colour is delightful when used with Coastal Cabana and or Bermuda Bay as they have a similar hue. Pool Party goes well with many colour combinations including with Mint Macaron/Smoky Slate/Misty Moonlight, as used in my second card.

Pool Party is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, Sheer Ribbon, the Supple Shimmer Speciality Paper, and 2020-2022 Subtles Designer Series Papers as well as Pattern Party, Sweet Talk, Sunshine and Rainbows, Hand-penned, Flowering Fields, Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper & Hand-Penned and What A Year Memories & More Card Packs, Hand Penned Memories & More Cards & Envelopes and Let's Party Treat Packaging Kit.  Wow, that's a list of products - just goes to show Pool Party's versatility. The cards below have used Pool Party Classic Stampin' ink, Card-stock, a Stampin' Write Marker, Friendly Hello DSP and Sheer Ribbon, plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces.

I have created 2 cards showcasing Pool Party in different ways. Here they are:

As you can see, Pool Party is a great colour to use in a range of ways. Apart from featuring  the colour, it is great as a background colour, whether with a blended background as used in Card 1 or lining around stamped images to soften the edge.

CARD 1:

As mentioned, this card features the beauty of Pool Party as a blended background, although the colour has been tied in with the askew mount, the sentiment and the delightful Sheer Ribbon.

Send personally created Easter Blessings with Daffodil Daydreams to family and friends to show them you care.

Back on the 19th January we were showcasing Old Olive and I created a card using the Daffodil dies. I had hoped to create a second card using the coordinating Daffodil Daydream stamp set and had coloured & fussy cut the gorgeous daffs. That was as far as I got and have had the daffodils sitting on my desk waiting to be used.

Send personally created Easter Blessings with Daffodil Daydreams to family and friends to show them you care.

A Pool Party blended background on a piece of Basic White card-stock was perfect for the Daffodils. The background was coloured with Stampin' Up!s Blending Brush - its such a great tool. Some water droplets were flicked over the background and a Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker added some splatters. This background panel gained added texture with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

Send personally created Easter Blessings with Daffodil Daydreams to family and friends to show them you care.

The free Sale-a-bration Friendly Hello bundle has some Pool Party designs in the DSP which was cut for use as an askew mount. (This is a delightful bundle - free with a spend of $180. You have until the 16th March to take up this wonderful offer.) Inspiration also came from the Global Design Project's challenge a week or so ago that was to case a card by a member of the Design Team. The card used an askew mount - I loved it and wanted to give it a go.

Send personally created Easter Blessings with Daffodil Daydreams to family and friends to show them you care.

The already stamped (in Smoky Slate Classic ink) and coloured (with Stampin' Blends Combos, ie So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Old Olive & Pale Papaya with the Colour Lifter) daffodils were positioned on the blended and embossed background with Mini Dimensionals.

The card front was finished with a sentiment from the same stamp set that was White heat embossed on Pool Party card-stock. The luscious Pool Party Sheer Ribbon was cut in half lengthwise, tied into a bow and placed beneath the sentiment. Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels added some shimmer, together with a little Wink of Stella.

Send personally created Easter Blessings with Daffodil Daydreams to family and friends to show them you care.

The card inner mounted a piece of Basic White card-stock onto a 2nd piece of the Pool Party DSP. The white panel had already been stamped with a daffodil and butterflies in Smoky Slate ink. Similarly, a Basic White C6 Envelope was stamped with a daffodil & butterflies in Smoky Slate ink. I love to coordinate the envelope with the card inner, and both coordinating with the card front design.

CARD 2:

Send a personally created butterfly card someone wonderful in your life to show her you care.

This second card features Pool Party on the focal butterflies, the sentiment and another askew mount.

Send a personally created butterfly card someone wonderful in your life to show her you care.

The Butterflies and Floral Layering Decorative Masks were used to colour the large butterfly. Pool Party Classic ink plus a little Mint Macaron ink coloured the first layer of the butterfly using a Stampin' Up! Blending Brush. The second layer of the design was coloured with Misty Moonlight. I wanted to try an asymmetric design, using part of the floral mask on the right wing. Two detailed butterflies were cut using the Brilliant Wings dies from Basic White card-stock. Vellum was layered underneath. The smaller of the 2 die cut butterflies was coloured with the same Blending Brushes used on the larger butterfly.

Send a personally created butterfly card someone wonderful in your life to show her you care.

The Basic White background card-stock piece has blending in Smoky Slate using one of the background masks from the same packet of masks. This background piece was added askew onto a piece of Pool Party card-stock and a piece of Simply Elegant Trim was wrapped around a couple of times and tied into a bow. This card front also was added askew to the Thick Basic White card-stock base. I must be feeling wonky this week. 😉

Send a personally created butterfly card someone wonderful in your life to show her you care.

As I was positioning the butterflies - it seemed to need something, so I added some Silver Heat Embossing on some of the wings' edges. The large butterfly was added with Dimensionals down the centre (body). The 2 smaller detailed butterflies (with Vellum beneath) were attached to the card front at the body with Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Send a personally created butterfly card someone wonderful in your life to show her you care.

A sentiment from the Special Moments Sale-a-bration free stamp set was Silver heat embossed on Pool Party card-stock, fussy cut and added with Mini Dimensionals. Rhinestone Basic Jewels were sprinkled around for that touch of bling.

Send a personally created butterfly card someone wonderful in your life to show her you care.

The Basic White card inner had some partial masking added in Smoky Slate. A thin strip of Pool Party card-stock was added to the LHS.  Similarly, a Basic White C6 Envelope also had some Smoky Slate masking added the back flap.

AWHT Colour Creations # 35 Petal Pink

Petal Pink with Blessings of Home

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are continuing to work though all the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. Having started mid 2021 we are currently continuing to work through "P".

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a pale orangey pink called Petal Pink. Petal Pink is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a gorgeous pink. It is one of my favourite SU colours. This colour is delightful with Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake; great with Polished Pink or Very Vanilla and Gold, to name a few colour combos.

Petal Pink is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends and the Subtles Designer Series Papers as well as Pansy Petals, In Good Taste, You're A Peach, Sweet Talk, Flowering Fields, Sunshine & Rainbows & Party Pattern Designer Series Papers and No Matter the Weather & Kerchief All-inclusive Kits. Petal Pink embellishments include 1/8" Cotton Ribbon (as part of the Combo Pack), Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon, and Elegant Faceted Gems.  The card below has used Petal Pink Classic Stampin' ink, Cardstock, Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Write Marker, Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon and Elegant Faceted Gems plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces.

Here is the card created to showcase Petal Pink:

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

The design was inspired by my recollection of a Christmas card that had been created by Stesha Bloodhart - it was a cut away gate-fold. Of course it uses different dies, colours, stamps, etc, etc.

CARD 1:

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

Thick Basic White card-stock was scored and folded into a gate-fold card base. The two front sections were die cut on the middle edges using one of the Basic Borders dies. Both card fronts were stamped with the larger floral stamp from the Blessings of Home stamp set using Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' ink. The floral stamp was also stamped on an extra piece of Basic White card-stock.

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

The extra floral image was coloured with a selection of Stampin' Blends, including Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake combos plus the Color Lifter, a touch of Light Soft Sea Foam with Crumb Cake on the leaves and Light Pale Papaya with Crumb Cake on the flower centres. The coordinating Flowers of Home dies includes a die that cuts out this arrangement of flowers.

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

As part of the card inner is seen due to the shaping of the gate-fold, I decided to create a flap that could be lifted to reveal the personal message inside. This way my handwritten scrawled message wouldn't be accidentally seen from the front. The flap was cut from Petal Pink card-stock and folded in half with the bottom half adhered to the card inner section and the top half folded forward.  A piece of Basic White card-stock that had been embossed with the Stitched Greenery die (love this die) was adhered to the top flap. Petal Pink and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write markers were used to add some splatters.

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

The actual card inner had a piece of Basic White card-stock added that had been partially stamped with the large floral stamp in Crumb Cake. An extra thin strip of Petal Pink card-stock was added near the bottom.

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

A belly band was created using Petal Pink card-stock to hold the gate-fold closed. A mid-sized scalloped rectangle was cut using the Scalloped Contours dies from Basic White card-stock. This was used to visually ground the floral arrangement. A piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon was tied around the belly band and the coloured floral arrangement was added with Dimensionals. The scalloped rectangle was also splattered with Petal Pink and Crumb Cake.

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

To create a finer bow, the ends of the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon were each cut into 3 strips. These ends were tied into a bow and a piece of White Bakers twine from the Bakers Twine Essential Pack was tied around the knot of the ribbon bow into a twine bow. I fiddled with the addition of a sentiment and wasn't happy with my attempts. Then I found a sentiment sitting on my table that was already stamped in Crumb Cake. I fussy cut it out - this one worked with the design. (The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration Special Moments stamp set - thank you Cathy.) The final touch was the addition of 3 Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Gems. They are so pretty.

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

C6 Basic White Envelope was stamped in Crumb Cake ink with the same floral image as stamped on the card front. One can't have a naked envelope.

Send a personally created card to let someone know you are thinking of them and you care.

Thank you so much for dropping by. I so appreciate it.

AWHT Colour Creations #34 Pear Pizazz

Pear Pizazz with Dahlia Days

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are continuing to work though all the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. Having started mid 2021 we are now in the midst of "P".

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a muted yellow green called Pear Pizazz.  Pear Pizazz is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a delightful green that is lighter and brighter than Old Olive. I love using it for leaves and would be great for depicting other "green things".  This colour is delightful with Flirty Flamingo and Pale Papaya, and there are many other lovely combos as well.

Pear Pizazz is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; and the Subtles Designer Series Papers as well as Artfully Composed, You’re a Peach, Daffodil Afternoon, Flowering Fields, Expressions in Ink Designer Series Papers & the Notes of Cheer Card Kit.  The card below has used Pear Pizazz Classic Stampin' ink (ink pad & re-inker), Stampin' Write Marker and a tad of You're A Peach DSP plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces.

Here's the card I created to showcase Pear Pizazz:

I had so many ideas for projects, but ran out of time, so my inspiration started with a bundle already on my desk from a previous project, the colour combo from a picture seen this morning and I wanted to use some of the Pear Pizazz design from the Sweet As a Peach DSP.

CARD 1:

Starting with a piece of Basic White card-stock, the large intricate die from the Detailed Dahlias dies cut a mask to be used with Shimmery White Embossing Paste. A blob of paste was dropped on a Silicone Mat together with a drop of Pear Pizazz Re-inker. Only a little of the ink was mixed into the paste, before it was spread over the mask onto a Basic White card-front. If I had more time I would have tried to use the mask to create a second card. It looks great - I must create with it   ... (The photo doesn't show the shimmer - its beautiful.)

While the embossing paste was drying, I stamped a range of elements. The large dahlia was inked with Pale Papaya and then Flirty Flamingo ink was dabbed on the edges with a Sponge Dauber. The label stamp was coloured with Stampin' Write Markers - Old Olive, Flirty Flamingo & Pale Papaya, the little flowers were inked in either Flirty Flamingo or Pale Papaya and a couple of the leafy stamps were stamped in Pear Pizazz, one of which was stamped off first. They were all die cut with the coordinating Detailed Dahlias dies. Gotta love Stampin' Up!s coordination.

A strip of the Old Olive design within the Sweet As a Peach DSP was cut on my SU Trimmer as well as a thinner shorter strip of Mother of Pearl Speciality paper. You have to see this speciality paper to appreciate how gorgeous it is. I played with the design selecting the pieces to be arranged and adhered either with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Dimensionals.

A bow of White Crinkled Seam Binding was tucked under the larger dahlia and a sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White card-stock and fussy cut. The final touch was the addition of a few of the delightful Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

A thin strip of the Pear Pizazz Sweet As a Peach DSP was added to one edge of the Basic White card inner and a left over Dahlia and leaves were also added. The C6 Basic White Envelope had a thin strip of the DSP adhered to the left side together with a few remaining little flowers.

Thank you so much for dropping by. I do appreciate you.
