Starry Sky with Latte Love

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a deep blue called Starry Sky. Starry Sky is part of the soon to retire 2022-2024 In Colour Family and is a wonderful blue that can coordinate with so many colours. This colour is lovely for dark skies or even dark water, a blue and white colour scheme and anything with a deep blue.

Starry Sky is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin’ Blends Combo; In Color Designer Series Paper as well as Stargazing DSP; Holographic Trio Speciality Paper; In Colour Bakers Twine, Metallic Woven Ribbon; In Color Pearls; The Best Remedy Kit; and the Blossoms Remedy Kit. 

Starry Sky ink, card-stock, Stampin’ Write Marker, Blends Combo, In Color Pearls, Metallic Woven Ribbon and In Color Bakers Twine have been used in the creation of this project plus a range of non-Starry Sky bits and pieces.

As I was thinking of my project to feature Starry Sky, I checked out the Stampin’ Up! website and the products with Starry Sky. My eye caught the Starry Sky Keep Cup and so determined to use the Latte Love bundle. I finished up including the Quiet Meadows stamps and dies as well as one of the Gorgeous Garden dies. The latter items are retiring at the end of the month, while Latte Love is an On-Line Exclusive - I love it.

While stamping the top view of the mug (in Starry Sky on Basic White card-stock) I decided to convert it into a cup and saucer. The saucer was die cut with a circle die from the Reach for the Stars die set and then blended with Night of Navy and some Craft White inks using Blending Brushes. The “cup” was coloured with Stampin’ Blends, ie Starry Sky combo, Light Balmy Blue and the Colour Lifter.

I’m not sure if you can pick it up but after colouring the cup I thought I would add the latte heart design stamped in Crumb Cake ink. You may need to squint. IRL it is really subtle, but does add a little extra texture and ties in with the tiny “Love” tag.

A small square of Basic White card-stock was covered with a floral die cut piece that was cut using the Gorgeous Garden dies. It was to give a sense of Damask Napkin. Some stems were die cut from Basic White card-stock using the Quiet Meadows dies. To add a pop of bright colour the flowers had a little Daffodil Delight ink blended over them. The tiny tag comes from the Quiet Meadows dies as well, as does the word “Love” come from the coordinating Quiet Meadows stamps.

The background panel and the Starry Sky card base were stamped with images from the Latte Love stamp set. The splodges and rings were either second or third generation stamping, where as the coffee beans were white heat embossed with Versamark Ink, White Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool.

The final touches include a double bow with the Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon and the tag was attached with the In Color Bakers Twine. A few In Color Pearls were added near the tag.

A Basic White panel for writing a personal message was adhered in side the card. It also was stamped with second or third generation splodges and a tad of blending. The Basic White C6 envelope was similarly stamped with the splodges.

Starry Sky with Nature's Prints and Water-colour

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2022-2023. Earlier this month we commenced working though all the Stampin' Up! colours, starting with the new In Colours for 2022-2024.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a rich and beautiful junior blue called Starry Sky. As mentioned Starry Sky is part of the new 'In Colour' Colour Family and is one of my favourite new In Colours - it is fighting it out with Orchid Oasis. This colour is gorgeous in a monochromatic project or would be amazing with pinks or yellows or so many other combinations. 

Starry Sky is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, In Colour Designer Series Papers and Tea Boutique, Sun Prints, Butterfly Kisses DSPs, Metallic Woven Ribbon, In Colour BakersTwine and Matte Decorative Dots, Fun Flower Resin Dots and Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes. The card below has used Starry Sky Classic Stampin' ink (both re-inker and Stamp Pad), Card-stock and Stampin' Blends plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces.

Here is this week's card to showcase Starry Sky:

Isn't Starry Sky a delightful colour.  It is such a relief that this blog is completed on time as I have been without power for nearly all of the day and my phone ran out of power nearing the end of the day. At the last moment SA Power came and fixed my connection to the power source. Phewwww.

CARD 1:

This card shows the beauty of Starry Sky through a water-coloured ombre  background panel.

A half panel of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper was watered down and then ink from a Starry Sky Re-inker was applied to the top of the panel with a large Water Painter, allowing the ink to run/drip down to the bottom. I have so much fun with this technique and I love the effect. It is a great way to get to know a new colour as water-colouring can show the different hues that make up the colour. The water-coloured panel was mounted to slightly larger piece of Starry Sky card-stock.  A piece of Basic White card-stock was adhered directly to the Starry Sky card base. 

A wreath from the Nature’s Prints dies was die cut 3 times using Thick Basic White card-stock and a 4th time from Mother of Pearl Speciality Paper. The wreaths were then layered directly one on top of the other with the Mother of Pearl wreath on top. Pieces of gorgeous Metallic Mesh Ribbon, the White Crinkled Seam Binding and the Silver Simply Elegant Trim were tied into bows and adhered with Glue Dots on the right side of the wreath. Some extra sprigs from the same set of dies were die cut from Silver Foil and tucked in and around the bow. This mounted centre panel was added to the card base with Dimensionals.

The card front was finished with a sentiment from the Nature’s Prints stamp set that had been White heat embossed on Starry Sky card-stock. Some Clear Polished Dots were coloured with a Light Starry Sky Blend and added around the sentiment and on the wreath to give a little shimmer.

A piece of Basic White card-stock that had been stamped  with the leaf from the stamp set was adhered into the inner card base.  The front and the back flap of a Basic White C6 Envelope also was stamped with the same leaf stamp in Starry Sky ink.

I had a second card design in mind using a new (to me) fun fold but my power outage changed my plans for the day. I still want to play with this fun fold so it is likely to turn up sometime in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out.
