Pacific Point with New and Continuing Products

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the first Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop for 2023. Happy New Year! We are continuing to work though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a a bright blue called Pacific Point. Pacific Point is part of the Brights Colour Family and is a great colour - intense, clean and bright. This colour is lovely when used for sea, dramatic skies and where a bright blue is required. 

Pacific Point is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Watercolor Pencils; Brights Designer Series Paper as well as Happy Forest Friends, Gingerbread & Peppermint and Beauty of the Earth DSPs; plus Old Olive & Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon Combo Pack, Glitter Washi Four Pack and Faux Sea Glass Shapes. 

Pacific Point card-stock, ink, Stampin' Write Marker and Watercolor Pencil have been used in these projects plus a range of non-Pacific Point bits and pieces. Here are my cards:

I started playing with Pacific Point between Christmas and New Year, starting with some water-colouring and then some blending. As life was quiet, I ended up creating 3 different cards for this blog hop.

CARD 1:

A friend loves the Superb Fairy Wren that we have in our area, that has patches of bright blue. Pacific Point seemed perfect to colour our little fairy wren. Toni's birthday is later in the year so hopefully I must put it aside in the Birthday Book that Stampin' Up! has released in Kit form. Check it out - it is a great kit that also comes with cards to be made.

I started by creating the background on Shimmery White card-stock using Pacific Point & Polished Pink Classic  Stampin' inks with the wide-brushed Water painter. I only wanted a light background so it didn't compete with the focal images. Once the background had dried it was splattered with both a Pacific Point Stampin' Write Marker and White Craft ink with the fine tipped Water Painter.

The die cut card front (Shimmery White card-stock) was cut using the large Aspen ... die. I so love this die. As you can see it cuts out tree trunks in an oval shape hole. The tree trunks were very lightly water-coloured with Crumb Cake ink. When dry, the panel was embossed using the Woodgrain 3D Embossing Folder and splattered with both Pacific Point and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers. 

The smaller leaf die from the Aspen Tree ... dies cut a number of leaves from Shimmery White card-stock. They were water-coloured with Polished Pink ink. The bird and branch from the Perched in a Tree stamp set were stamped in Crumb Cake ink, then Versamark ink and clear heat embossed using Clear Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool. My Stamperatus ensured the clear embossing was directly over the Crumb Cake ink. The bird and branch were water-coloured using Crumb Cake ink and touches of White Craft ink and the bird was also coloured with Pacific Point and Night of Navy inks. To add extra depth of colour I used Pacific Point, Early Expresso and Back Black Watercolor Pencils.

A couple of sentiments from the Something Fancy stamp set were stamped either in Crumb Cake or Pacific Point inks. Both sentiments were fussy cut and I combined part of a word from one sentiment into another sentiment. Don't forget that you can chop up sentiments and only use part of them or mix and match to get a sentiment that is perfect for the recipient. All the pieces were layered together onto a Pacific Point card-stock base and a few Iridescent Pearls add the finishing touch.

The card inner used a thin strip of the water-coloured background paned and an extra water-coloured leaf with another sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set with an extra fussy cut word from another sentiment - all stamped in Pacific Point. A C6 Basic White Envelope was simply stamped with the bird in Crumb Cake ink.

I hope my friend likes her Birthday card.

CARD 2:

Adding colour directly to coloured card-stock changes the colour as you can see with this card. Pacific Point was blended directly onto Smoky Slate card-stock using one of Stampin' Up!s gorgeous Blending Brushes. A piece of Stampin' Up!s Masking Paper was die cut with a Stitched Rectangle from the ... set of dies. If you look closely you with see the stitched outline around the coloured rectangle. It is an extra touch of gorgeousness that happens with no extra effort. It's wonderful. A touch of White Craft ink and Night of Navy Classic ink was also added to give extra monochromatic range. 

A panel of Smoky Slate card-stock was embossed with the new Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder and added to a Smoky Slate card base. The blended panel was trimmed down and splattered with water and then some White Craft ink. I love the effect of the different splatters. Some White Bakers Twine from the Basics Bakers Twine bundle was wrapped around the blended panel and tied in a bow.

The new Dainty Delight set of dies was used to cut some leaves and flowers from Basic White card-stock. They were arranged over the blended panel and adhered with either Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Mini Dimensionals. A panel of Basic White card-stock was adhered askew behind the front panel and then this card front was popped up onto the card base with Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the coordinating new Dainty Delight stamp set was white heat embossed onto Smoky Slate card-stock and the fussy cut out. A tad of blending was added to the edge of the sentiment before it was added to the card front with Dimensionals. The finishing touch was the addition of some Iridescent Pearls.

The card inner was simply a panel of Backs white card-stock that had been stamped with a stem of flowers from the Dainty Delight stamp set in Pacific Point ink. Similarly, A C6 Envelope was stamped with the same floral stem. I do love coordinating the card inner and envelope with the card design - it doesn't have to be involved or difficult.

This card started out with the idea of a sympathy card but the addition of a white panel behind the front panel lightened up the feel and I thought I would use it as a New Year's card.

CARD 3:

I created 2 water-coloured panels when I first stared playing with Pacific Point. I had a number of ideas of how I would use the panel on this card, but in the end decided to use it behind the ... large floral die cut from the new ... Isn't it beautiful. It was cut from a piece of basic White card-stock and adhered directly onto the water-coloured

Mint Macaron with Carolling Mice

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, featuring one colour each week.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a soft green called Mint Macaron. Mint Macaron is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a pretty colour. I do love this colour and its versatility - I guess I am particularly partial to subtle colours. This colour is lovely when used for leaves, trees, macarons (as the name suggests) and so much more. 

Mint Macaron is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends Combo, Subtles Designer Series Paper as well as Gingham Cottage, Santa Express, Design a Daydream DSPs, Christmas Gifting Kit, Celebrate Today Magnet Board Kit, Today is the Day and Santa Express Memories & More Card Packs, together with Santa Express Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. That is quite a list demonstrating this colour's versatility.

I am sharing one card as my day has been quite topsy turvy there by leaving my second card unfinished and unable to complete the blog in time. The card uses Mint Macaron card-stock, ink and Stampin' Blends Combo plus a range of non-Mint Macaron bits and pieces. Here it is:

The inspiration for creating this week was an Artisan's article on inking an embossing folder with White Craft ink before embossing a piece of Crumb Cake card-stock using the Whimsical Woodlands 3D embossing folder. I love the effect created and thought it would work brilliantly with Mint Macaron card-stock. I cautiously applied the White Craft ink on my first try - the results are seen on this card. On my second try, I applied the ink more thickly to gain a more dramatic effect. That card is unfinished but will try to get it finished and post it soon.

As mentioned, I started by inking the Whimsical Woodlands 3D embossing folder with White Craft ink before using it to emboss a piece of Mint Macaron card-stock. It was put aside to dry while 3 caroling mice were stamped in Black Momento ink on Basic White card-stock. The light pole and a tree from the same Caroling Mice stamp set were also stamped out. The 3 images were coloured with Stampin' Blends, ie Mint Macaron, Flirty Flamingo, Polished Pink, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, So Saffron, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Gray Granite and Basic Black combos with the Colour Lifter. All the images were fussy cut as the Caroling Mice is a stand alone Host stamp set without any sentiments. I am happy to fussy cut - this set is soooo cute. When I initially saw this set I thought it was more appropriate for the northern hemisphere, however, given the weather (low temperatures) we have been experiencing in Adelaide I believe the wooly scarves & caps are very relevant here.

A circular label cut with the largest stitched circle in the Stylish Shapes dies was on my desk and was prefect for grounding my focal elements. A little blending using Balmy Blue Stampin' Classic ink was added to part of the edge and an "indicative ground" stamp was added in Mint Macaron Classic ink. This label was added with Dimensionals. The mice were also added to the label with Dimensionals and the light pole was partially tucked underneath with Multi-purpose Liquid Glue. 

Some white Pearlized Enamel Effects was dropped on the pom poms on the caps and a little was added to an edge of the street light and bow. A triple bow was tied with some silver Elegant Trim and tucked under the lamp post and label. A sentiment from the Perched in a Tree stamp set was white heat embossed on Mint Macaron card-stock using Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool. Some White Craft ink was splattered over the card. The final touch was the addition of some tiny stars from the Sparkle and Shine sequins.

The card inner was created with Basic White card-stock that was stamped with a sentiment from the same stamp set in Mint Macaron ink.  The remaining little tree was adhered near the base. This panel was then mounted onto a slightly larger piece of Mint Macaron card-stock. A C6 Basic White envelope was stamped with the light pole in Momento ink.

Gorgeous Grape with Perched In A Tree & Brightest Beauty

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a bright purple called Gorgeous Grape. Gorgeous Grape is part of the Brights Colour Family and is a happy colour. This colour is lovely when used for flowers, birds and so much more. It is a complimentary colour to yellow - sitting directly across the colour wheel.

Gorgeous Grape is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads, spots & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Watercolor Pencils; Soft Pastels, Brights Designer Series Paper as well as Pretty Prints & Hues of Happiness DSPs and Glossy Dots & Pastel Pearls. 

My card uses Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin’ ink, Stampin’ Write Marker, Hues of Happiness DSP, and the dark Highland Heather Stampin‘ Blend (which acts as Gorgeous Grape in colour and tone).

I started with a piece of Basic White card-stock and blended some Gorgeous Grape Classic ink over the left edge with a Blending Brush. This panel was embossed with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and then a little more ink was added to darken some of the embossed notes. A piece of Hues of Happiness DSP with Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Night of Navy blocks of colour as added to the Fresh Freesia card base at an angle then the embossed, blended panel was adhered over the top.

The bird from the Perched in a Tree stamp set was stamped in Smoky Slate ink on Basic White card-stock. The “Let heaven and nature sing” sentiment was also stamped in Smoky Slate ink. The bird was coloured with Highland Heather, Orchard Oasis, Daffodil Delight and Smoky Slate Alcohol Blends Combos together with the Colour Lifter. While there is no Gorgeous Grape named Stampin’ Blends it is important to know that the Dark Highland Heather Blend is Gorgeous Grape in colour. I was going to add some Gorgeous Grape Water-colour Pencil to give more definition to the bird but was interrupted and then … forgot. Have you mixed colouring implements - it can give gorgeous effect. The bird was fussy cut but could have been cut out with a coordinating die.

The wattle stamp from the Brightest Beauty stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink on Vellum card-stock and then heat embossed with White Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool. It was die cut with a coordinating die from the Golden Beauty dies. The reverse side of the embossed wattle was coloured with a Light Daffodil Delight Blend before being adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, applying the glue to the reverse side of the leaves. Some twigs were die cut from Basic White card-stock before being lightly coloured with a Blending Brush and Soft Succulent ink. The same piece of card-stock was lightly and unevenly coloured with Daffodil Delight ink and then wattle flowers were die cut. All the pieces were arranged over/under the white embossed wattle on the card front. The bird was added with Dimensionals. 

The earlier-stamped sentiment was fussy cut and adhered in place with Mini Dimensionals. A bow was tied in Fresh Freesia Open Weave ribbon that had been coloured with the dark Highland Heather Blend and sliced in half lengthwise. I’m not happy with this bow so will play with it later and am likely to change it for a different trim. The card front was finished with a number of Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

To coordinate, the Basic White card inner was stamped with the same bird in Smoky Slate ink and a leftover die cut twig was adhered over. The same stamping and twig were added to the Basic White C6 Envelope.

Calypso Coral with Count on Me, Perched in a Tree & Country Wreaths

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. 

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a pinky orange called Calypso Coral. Calypso Coral is part of the Subtles Colour Family and is a beautiful soft orange with a bit of oomph. This colour is lovely when used with Petal Pink or yellows, oranges or pinks. 

Calypso Coral is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Water-colour Pencils; Stampin' Blends; Subtles Designer Series Paper as well as Gingham Cottage, Storybook Gnomes, Butterfly Kisses, Awash in Beauty, Happy Forest Friends, Pretty Prints and Painted Christmas DSPs; plus Splendid Day SDSP and Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems & Fun Floral Resin Shapes; and Today is the Day Memories & More Card Pack. 

My card uses Calypso Coral Classic Stampin' ink and card-stock as well as other non CC bits and pieces. To create this project I have used 2 different bundles and a 3rd stamp set.

I want to acknowledge Cindy Schuster from The Crafty Carrot Collective for the inspiration for my card. Cindy created a card in a Crafty Carrot's tutorial this past week featuring the Aspen Trees dies. I have CASEd her design but used water-colouring rather than Stampin' Blends for most of the colouring, as well as different stamps and other dies. As I watched Cindy create, the seeds were sewn for this card to come into being. Thank you Cindy.

A piece of Shimmery White card-stock was cut using the oval tree die from the Aspen Tree dies. It is amazing - I love it. The trees were water-coloured with Gray Granite Classic ink and a medium Water Painter. As I walked this morning I was checking out nearby gum trees and noticed they were a really light browny grey with some darker patches.  This has influenced my water-colouring of the trees. Fluid 100 Watercolor paper was used for the water-coloured background with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo Classic inks and a wide-brush Water Painter. I had a summer sunset in mind. Once dry, the die cut panel was added to the background panel with Dimensionals. I love the depth this creates.

The koalas stamp from the Count on Me stamp set was stamped in Black Momento ink and coloured with Blends, ie Smoky Slate combo, SU700 and my trusty Colour Lifter. The koalas were fussy cut. An off-cut of Fluid 100 Watercolor paper was coloured with Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz Classic inks. Once dry, tiny leaf dies from the Country Wreaths die set cut a series of leaves.

Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla twine from the Basic Twine Pack were wrapped around the front panel and then tied in a bow. A sentiment from Perched in a Tree stamp set was white heat embossed on Calypso Coral card-stock using Versamark ink, White Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. The sentiment was cut out and added with Mini Dimensionals and Tombow Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. Some gorgeous Iridescent Basic Rhinestone Jewels added that touch of glimmer and I couldn't resist adding more shimmer with a splatter of Wink of Stella.

The little koalas were stamped off and stamped in the centre of a Basic White card-stock inner and left over die cut leaves were scattered around. A C6 Basic White envelope was stamped with a branch from the Perched in a Tree set and a koala. A little leaf was added as well.
