Poppy Parade with Crane of Fortune
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are continuing to work though all the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order and are currently featuring colours whose names start with "P".
This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a bright slightly orangey red called Poppy Parade. Poppy Parade is part of the Brights Colour Family. Given the slight orange twist it goes well with Yellow and is stunning with Black and White.
Poppy Parade is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, the Soft Pastels Assortment and the Brights Designer Series Papers as well as Hey Sports Fan, Pattern Party, Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper, Ombre Speciality Paper, Resin Star Embellishments, Fan Bakers Twine & a couple of Christmas Kits. The card below has used Poppy Parade Classic Stampin' ink, Cardstock and a Stampin' Write Marker plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces.
Here is my card to showcase Poppy Parade.
CARD 1:
I had thought of featuring Black and White with Poppy Parade but remembered the gorgeous Symbols of Fortune Speciality Designer Series Paper with some of the designs using grey/white/gold so decided to give it a go with Poppy Parade.
Using my trusty Stamparatus, I marker-ed the chrysanthemum stamp with Stampin' Write markers to ink the image. Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadows were the colours used. I created 2 flower images that were die cut with the coordinating dies, Good Fortune Dies. Also, the detailed flower die cut a strand from Brushed Gold Foil.
A card front of Basic White card-stock was embossed with the splatters from the Stripes and Splatters Embossing Folders. Both EFs give great texture. The Poppy Parade Stampin' Write Marker was used to add some splatters. The embossed card front was mounted onto a slightly larger piece of Poppy Parade card-stock and in turn to a Thick Basic White card base. A smaller piece of Symbols of Fortune SDSP was mounted on Poppy Parade card-stock. A larger piece of Layering Designs Vellum was centred over the DSP. In real life, the DSP beneath the Vellum can be seen more clearly than shown on these photos.
The gold die cut and the chrysanthemum die cut were layered on Dimensionals and a sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set was stamped on Basic White card-stock with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder. I thin strip of Poppy Parade card-stock was added beneath the sentiment. Some Polished Dots were added giving a little sparkle.
A thin strip of the SDSP was added to the Right side of a Basic White card inner and a little of the extra Chrsynthamum was trimmed and adhered to the card inner edge. The C6 Basic White Envelope had the remaining piece of chrysanthemum adhered directly to the envelope's front.
Thank you so much for dropping by. I do value that you spent time with me.
