Granny Apple Green with Vintage Christmas
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order.
This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a bright yellow green called Granny Apple Green - just imagine the colour of granny apples. Granny Apple Green is part of the Brights Colour Family and is a happy colour and one often seen in nature. This colour is lovely when used for leaves, apples 🍏 and so much more.
Granny Apple Green is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads, spots & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin’ Blends Combo, Watercolor Pencils; Soft Pastels, Brights Designer Series Paper as well as Awash In Beauty, Celebrate Everything, Santa Express & Hues of Happiness DSPs, Robot Buddies Kids Card Kit & The Best Remedy Kit, Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack and Cards & Envelopes and For Everything Fancy Sequins. That is quite a list for this lovely colour.
My card uses Granny Apple Green Classic Stampin’ ink, Stampin’ Write Marker and Stampin’ Blends. I was inspired by a climbing rose seen on one of our regular walks. The rose is growing wild over a number of other plants. Many of the leaves are shades of Granny Apple Green with the little light yellow roses. For a change, I chose a Christmas stamp set for this card even though I didn’t create a Christmas card.
The larger bottle from the Vintage Christmas stamp set was stamped on a scrap of Basic White card-stock in Granny Apple Green ink and cut out with the punch. A Vintage Bottle Shaker Dome was added into the card front’s punched hole. The dome is amazing as it has adhesive incorporated into the dome - so simple to use. Effervescent Elements were added to the upturned dome and the punched & stamped bottle was added on top with some Tear ‘N Tape - this enabled the bottle of “bubbles” to be turned over without loosing its contents. The edges of a piece of Parakeet Party 2022-2024 In Colour Glimmer Paper were lightly coloured with the Light Granny Apple Green Blend in a way to maintain the ombré effect. The mounted card-front was added to the base with Dimensionals.
Three stems of leaves were die cut from Basic White card-stock using the Splendid Stems dies. Each had some Granny Apple Green partially blended over the leaves. The larger sprig also had some Shaded Spruce ink added. The flowers from the Vintage Christmas stamp set were stamped in So Saffron ink a number of times on a scrap of white. The 2 smaller flowers were fussy cut and a couple of the flowers were layered, one over the other, while others were left as a single layer. After arranging the flowers and leaves some Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels were added to the flower centres and others were scattered. A double bow was tied with Parakeet Party Metallic Woven ribbon and a triple bow in White Bakers Twine and both were attached with Glue Dots. A little tag from the Teacup dies was cut from Basic White card-stock and stamped with a Granny Apple Green outline from the Cup of Tea stamp set. A little heart was also die cut and coloured with some So Saffron ink.

Your card is so beautiful, Andrea. The layering out of the vase looks amazing, and how wonderful that it was inspired by a real rose bush.
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely something a bit Art Nouveau about your gorgeous card tonight Andrea! Maybe it's the green tinted glass jar, and all the lovely organic shapes? Really nicely put together!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Andrea. I especially love how you coloured the die-cut leaves, and the edges of the glimmer paper (great tip!). The Deckled Rectangle was the perfect choice on which to set all the lovely elements you've put together.
ReplyDeleteA stunning bottle of flowers Andrea. I really love the pale yellow flowers and the arrangement of stems is lovely and that tiny tag is so cute.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, I love the stories of your walks with Gemma and the rose bush - I enjoy looking at the gardens and birds in my neighbourhood too as I walk Superman. The little tag from the Teacup dies is a delightful addition to your dreamy card.
ReplyDeleteA really pretty card, Andrea. That Deckled Rectangle looks great and the bottle with yellow roses is beautiful. The little tag is a lovely addition!
