Boho Blue with Cheerful Daisies
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 2023-2024 Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. The new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue was launched yesterday along with a colour refresh. This is the first blog hop in the our 2023-2024 series where we will be working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order (well sort of), focussing on one colour each week. Initially, we are showcasing the new 2023-2025 In Colours and then the newly introduced core colours before we work through all the other core colours & the 2022-2024 In Colours in alpha order.
This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a beautiful somewhat muted blue called Boho Blue. As mentioned, Boho Blue is part of the new 2023-2025 In Colour Family and is a delightful colour. There will be much experimentation in how the colour can best be used, but it is lovely when used with daisies, and would be delightful for sky, sea or water.
Boho Blue is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin' Blends Combo; In Color Designer Series Paper as well as Fresh As A Daisy, Countryside Inn, Let’s Go Fishing DSPs; plus In Color Luster Speciality Paper & Treat Bags, In Color Textured Ribbon & Jute Trim; In Color Dots and Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems.
CARD 1:
It was so much fun to play with Boho Blue. I love this colour. When working with a new colour it is fun to use a water-colour technique to explore the colour, so I started by creating a water-colour background on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper using the large flat tipped Water Painter. Using the wet on wet water-colour technique Boho Blue Classic Stampin’ ink was added with a touch of the newly returned Misty Moonlight ink at the bottom. It was interesting that diluted, the two blues were very similar.
Flowers, leaves and twigs were cut from Basic White card-stock using the Cheerful Daisies dies. The daisy centres were stamped with Lemon Lolly ink (another new colour). The leaves and twigs had some Lost Lagoon ink blended over them with a Blending Brush before they were partially silver heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder, Versamark ink and a Heat Tool.
A sentiment from the Cheerful Daisies stamps was white heat embossed on a piece of Boho Blue card-stock using White Emboss powder (from the Basics Emboss Powder set). It was fussy cut. A half-wide strip of Boho Blue Textured ribbon was laid across the centre panel and the sentiment and die cut pieces were arranged.
A piece of Boho Blue Textured ribbon that had been cut in half length-wise was pulled apart into a number of long single lengths that were tied together into a bow. A piece of Simply Elegant Silver Trim was also tied into a bow. The bows were tucked between the sentiment and the daisies and adhered in place with Glue Dots. Some gorgeous In Color Dots added some sparkle - one of each size. They are beautiful.
A piece of Basic White card-stock was stamped along one edge with the small flowers stamped in Boho Blue ink and stamped off Boho Blue. Similarly a C6 Basic White envelope was also stamped along the left edge.
I couldn’t resist creating a simpler card featuring one of the delightful designs from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP.
A piece of the Boho Blue Fresh as a Daisy DSP was mounted on a Boho Blue slim-line card base. A 2-layered daisy, leaves and a twig were cut using the Cheerful Daisies dies from Basic White card-stock together with a label from the same set.
The label was stamped with a sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink. This stamp set has a gorgeous font. The other half of the Boho Blue Textured ribbon was partially stripped into thin threads and these threads together with the thicker edge piece were tied into a small bow. The label was positioned with Dimensionals and the bow with Glue Dots. The daisy was stamped in the centre with Copper Clay ink to match the DSP. The die cut pieces were arranged over the bow and around the label.
2023-2025 In Color Dots were added to the sentiment & arrangement, with a Copper Clay Dot in the centre of the daisy and other Boho Blue and Copper Clay Dots sprinkled around. I love the sparkle they add.
A Basic White card inner was stamped with daisies from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set and a little Boho Blue ink was blended over the stamped corner and another sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set was stamped nearby. I must create a coordinating envelope for this slim-line daisy card but, at the moment, I don’t want to use this DSP as I am preparing for a class this coming Friday and am planning to feature the Fresh as a Daisy Suite.
Thank you for dropping in. I so appreciate you checking out my Boho Blue creations. I am falling in love with this beautiful colour and am sure it will be one of my go to colours.

You've created two really pretty cards with this gorgeous new blue, Andrea. I love that Boho Blue is such a great complement to, and almost a lighter tone of, Misty Moonlight. Your first card is my stand-out favourite, particularly because of the stamping down the sides (of the front and the inside) - a lovely detail!
ReplyDeleteAmazing cards, Andrea! I love the Boho blue and Misty moonlight water-colour background on your first card, it is gorgeous. And I love the way your daisy matches the DSP in your elegant slimline card.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are stunning Andrea, but I am in awe of the first card!! So much beautiful texture, and the lovely watercoloured background! <3
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so beautiful. The fresh, white daisies look amazing layered over the blue backgrounds. Like Christine, I was particularly taken with the stamping down the side of your first card.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful examples using Boho Blue, love them both. I have cut the ribbon, must try fraying it next, thanks for the tip Andrea.

ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards Andrea and even though the second is a simpler one I really love it and especially in the slimline format.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful, Andrea. That water coloured background die cut with the Deckled Rectangle die is perfect. Love the crispness of the white daisy on your slimline card too!
ReplyDelete2 beautiful cards Andrea, I think this colour is going to be a real hit.
