AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop #20 Crushed Curry

Crushed Curry with Abundant Beauty Fancy Fold

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week.
This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a rich deep yellow called Crushed Curry. Crushed Curry is one of the Regals Colour Family and is a warm yellow. This colour would be lovely when used for flowers, sunshine or chickens, and is wonderful for autumn.

Crushed Curry is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Watercolor Pencils; Regals Designer Series Paper as well as a range of DSPs including Beary Christmas, Merry Bold & Bright, Stargazing, Delightfully Eclectic, Masterfully Made, Inked Botanicals, Fresh as a Daisy DSPs plus All About Autumn Speciality DSP and Beary Christmas Memories & More cards; as well as The Best Remedy and Confetti Birthday card kits.

Crushed Curry card-stock, ink and Stampin’ Write Marker have been used in the creation of this project plus a range of non-Crushed Curry bits and pieces.

I have a wonderful daisy bush in my front yard and it has inspired today’s card. It is a deep Crushed Curry style yellow. The photo above shows one of the daisies. Also, I hadn’t previously used my Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks so created blended Crushed Curry daisies. As I was designing the card I decided to use one of the Deckled Circle dies. This led me to creating a simple fancy fold.

The Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks were used with Blending Brushes and a number of inks, including Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and a touch of Garden Green Classic Stampin’ inks. I had so much fun blending with these masks. There is one mask each for the petals, the flower centres, flower centre details and the leaves. They are easy to position as each the mask has a notch that is to be placed in the same spot. As you can see, each flower and leaf were fussy cut.

The inner layer was also coloured with Blending Brushes and Crushed Curry & Pumpkin Pie inks. Both the inner piece and the card front background were splattered with Crushed Curry & Pumpkin Pie Stampin Write Markers.

Extra leaves were cut from Basic White card-stock using a couple of Textured Floral dies. They were lightly coloured with Crumb Cake ink and a Blending Brush. The card front and the Crushed Curry card base were positioned and die cut with one of the larger Deckled Circle dies. The Basic White card front was then dry embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder. It only arrived today and I love it.

The flowers, leaves and die cut leaves were arranged and adhered in place with Multi-purpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals and Glue Dots. A bow was tied with delightful Silver & White Sheer ribbon from the new Mini Catalogue and was tucked under the large daisy. Flowers and leaves were also positioned on the underneath layer, ensuring only little details could be seen from the front.

A sentiment from the Cheerful Daisies stamp set was white heat embossed onto Crushed Curry card-stock and fussy cut into 4 pieces. It was positioned with Mini Dimensionals so it could be seen from the front and when the first flap was opened. Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels were scattered. I love these embellishments so much - subtle, versatile and shimmery.

The Basic White card-stock inside panel for writing one’s personal message was decorated with a couple of die cut leaves and a little Crushed Curry flag. A Basic White C6 envelope was dry embossed on the flap with the Distressed Tile 3D embossing folder.

Thank you so so much for dropping by to check out my Crushed Curry card. I so appreciate it.

  3. So many lovely details to look at on your card, Andrea! The flowers and leaves look gorgeous, especially fussy-cut - they really pop. I love the dry embossing of the front panel, and flap of the envelope. Mostly, the decoration of the inside of the card catches my eye. Beautiful!

  5. Absolutely gorgeous, Andrea. I love that big circle cut out allowing the next layer to shine through. And then there is another layer, such a great surprise! Those sunflowers are wonderful and love the Distressed Tile TIEF on the envelope to coordinate with your card.
