AWH Heart of Christmas #11

Christmas with Winter Meadow

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.

This week I am showcasing the Winter Meadow Suite for a few Christmas cards.

I am sure you have all had “one of THOSE weeks” at some stage, well that has been my week and today it exploded into a family emergency so my creative plans went up in smoke. As there was hardly any time to create and build this blog I needed something simple. I remembered seeing Emma Goddard, a UK Demonstrator, share a specific layout that included some Designer Series Paper. I have used her layout with different products and changed certain aspects. Thanks Emma for a wonderful layout to spark my creating.

As the delightful Winter Meadow DSP was near by, it easily was my choice for this blog. There are three cards featuring the DSP in different formats, ie with the DSP at the top of the card front, another with the DSP positioned at the bottom and the third with a full panel of DSP.

Some Shimmery White Embossing Paste was applied through a Decorative Snowflake Mask to the Basic White backgrounds and partially over the full panel of DSP, giving subtle interest and shimmer. It’s hard to photograph it but does give gorgeous effect in real life.

Banners were cut from Basic White cardstock and flagged at the base. Each was silver embossed with a sentiment from the Wrapped All Around stamp set and Versamark ink, Silver Emboss Powder, the Embossing Accessory Tool kit, and a Heat Tool. The Silver & White Sheer Ribbon was tied around the banners, into bows. I adore this ribbon - it ties beautifully and is so luscious. The banner was popped up with Dimensionals.

Each card front was added to a different coloured card base that coordinated with the DSP, ie Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce card-stocks. Two die cut spiky leaf sprays were added to each card, tucking the ends under the ribbon with Glue Dots. The leaf dies were from the Magical Meadow dies. One style spray was cut out of Silver Foil and the other was cut from Basic White card-stock. The latter was coloured with a Blending Brush and ink that coordinated with the colour of the card base, ie Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin’ inks.

The final touch was the addition of either silver of soft succulent pearls from the Festive Adhesive-backed Pearls. The light green pearls go brilliantly with Lost Lagoon so they were used on the card with the Lost Lagoon card base.

A Basic White card inner was stamped with a coordinating spray of leaves & berries in a coordinating colour to the card base. A C6 Basic White envelope was stamped similarly.

Thank you so much for dropping in to check out my Christmas cards. They could easily be made in bulk, either in choosing one DSP positioning or changing the amount and position of the DSP like I have shown. I love the version with the DSP at the top. Which is your favourite?

There is more Christmas creativity so continue with the blog hop. Just click the "next" graphic below to be taken to the blog of the lovely Christine BlainI am looking forward to checking out Christine’s creation(s). I do love seeing everyones' projects - there is always so much inspiration.

  7. Oh Andrea, I do hope your family are all okay after your family emergency? And I can't believe you've come up with not one, but three gorgeous cards with your time cut short. I love this design and might case it with different products for another Christmas blog hop - thank you for the inspiration!
