AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop #31 Lemon Lime Twist

Lemon Lime Twist with Merriest Trees

Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, highlighting one colour each week.

This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a bright yellow-green colour called Lemon Lime Twist.  Lemon Lime Twist is part of the Brights Colour Family and is almost an iridescent bright yellow-green that can coordinate with many colours, including other greens, yellows, some blues, and compliments some pinky purples, etc. It is a colour that can be used for colouring or stamping citrus, some other fruit like kiwi fruit, leaves, leafy trees, some birds like our Rainbow Lorikeets, flowers …  and anything needing a bright green.

Lemon Lime Twist is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin’ Blends Combo; Brights Designer Series Paper as well as Otterly Adorable, Full of Life, Flowering Zinnias, Meandering Meadows, and Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Papers;  plus Tinsel Gems Four-pack, Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins, and Transparent Adhesive-backed Dots Embellishments; a range of Kits and numerous products on the Clearance Rack.

This project has incorporated Lemon Lime Twist as Classic Stampin' ink, card-stock and Stampin' Write Marker.

As I walk around my local area I see trees with leaves that are a green similar to Lemon Lime Twist so I thought I would create a card featuring the tree from the Merriest Trees bundle. This bundle carried over into the current 2024-2025 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. It is a great bundle and can enable someone the created a layered tree with dimension, as I have done or 5 different sized trees. It is so much fun. I love the detailed die that can cut out a filigree star and there is another die to create a string of “garlands”.

A Basic White card-stock panel was cut with the second largest tree die before being dry embossed with the delightful Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder. A little Pool Party Classic Stampin’ ink was added with a Blending Brush to give a touch of sky. To create the focal  Christmas Tree, a panel of Basic White card-stock was blended all over in a mottled way with Lemon Lime Twist Classic ink and a Blending Brush. Then some Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce inks were blended in patches. Water droplets were sprinkled all over the panel. After the panel dried splatterings of both Lemon Lime Twist and Shaded Spruce were added with Stampin Write Markers and then White Craft ink was splattered on top. I love this effect.

The 5 different sized tree dies were cut from the blended & splattered panel and then the pieces were layered with the top sections glued down with Multi-purpose Liquid Glue and the bottom edges flicked up with Dimensionals. The detailed star and garlands were die cut from Berry Burst Glimmer Paper from the Berry Burst, Old Olive and White Speciality Glimmer Paper pack. The cut out section was turned into a shaker section with some White Loose Snowflakes and a few yellow Loose Frosted Dots, combined with Dimensional Strips and Window Sheet.

A sentiment from the Merriest Trees stamp set was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink on Basic White card-stock and then fussy cut with Snips. A few extra White Snowflakes were adhered around the trees.

A panel of Basic White card-stock was stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink with another sentiment from the stamp set and 2 extra tree pieces were adhered together on the panel to create a small tree. A little splattering was also added. A Basic White C6 Envelope was stamped with another sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist ink.

  3. Andrea, your blended, splattered and mottled panel looks so beautiful. What a great idea to pair the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder with the Merriest Trees bundle - they work so well together! I love the tree on the inside of your card as well - it is so cute!

  4. The effect you have achieved on that focal tree is gorgeous, Andrea. The water splatterings and then the ink splatters as well, create an amazing look. The embossed panel behind works well and adds so much texture. Another stunning card!
