CASEing the Catty #472 Take to the Sky

Take to the Sky meets Thoughtful Wishes

Hello, welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and #472 Challenge for CASEing the Catty. You may have hopped over from Peta Stephen's blog on you way around this week's Blog Hop.

The Take to the Sky suite is a wonderful collection of products and the samples created for Stampin Up!s Annual Catalogue are amazing. When I first looked at this suite my eye went to the card near the bottom of the image below, that can be seen on page 36 of the Catty.

I love the die cut pieces using the Nested Essential dies from one of the coordinating Take To The Sky DSP designs that have been arranged to cover the card front, with a central die cut featuring a different design of DSP and stamped planes flying across the card with banners trailing. This had to be the card I would CASE. (CASE = Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Slightly Edit)

For my card I chose to use a design from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper. I adore the watercolour designs. In this card most of the card front shows a die cut tessellated watercolour scene, although I have left a small gap between the die cuts. The centre die cut is from one of the Thoughtful Designs Speciality Designer Series Paper. A smaller die from the Nested Essentials dies was selected and this card is in portrait format rather than landscape.

Boho Blue is one of the colours in this DSP so the die cuts were layered over a piece of Boho Blue card-stock before being mounted on a slightly larger piece of Basic White cardstock and a Boho Blue card base.

Some of the pieces were popped up with Dimensionals and others were adhered flat. It doesn’t show much in the photos but in real life it does add an extra element of interest.

The central feature was created with one of the Thoughtful Wishes stamps, which was inked with Stampin’ Write Markers, ie Mossy Meadows and Petunia Pop. The image was coloured further with a Blender Pen and the above Markers together with touches of Shaded Spruce and Berry Burst. Two different die cut sprigs using the coordinating Thoughtful Wishes dies were lightly blended with Mini Blending Brushes and Fresh Freesia and Mossy Meadows Classic inks.

A sentiment from the stamp set was white heat embossed onto Boho Blue cardstock and fussy cut. A double Linen Twine bow was tucked under the sentiment and a few of the gorgeous Adhesive-backed Pearl Trio were scattered near the sentiment.

I try to add a simple decoration to the card inner so it coordinates in some way to the front of the card. This time a leftover strip of the DSP was adhered at the bottom, the thistles were stamped in Mossy Meadows ink and another sentiment was stamped in Boho Blue inkBasic White C6 Envelope also was stamped with the thistles.

Thank you so much for spending time with me. I so appreciate it.
