Blackberry Bliss with Encircled in Nature +
Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week.
This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a deep purple red called Blackberry Bliss. Blackberry Bliss is part of the Neutrals Colour Family and as a neutral can coordinate with many colours, including Berry Burst and Bubble Bath. Apart from a dark background colour it would be wonderful for berries (as the name suggests), dark flowers, … and much more.
My project has used Blackberry Bliss card-stock, Classic ink, Stampin’ Write Marker and Blends Combo.
When I first purchased the Encircled in Nature bundle I had this design in mind. It was fun to create. I love the way one of the stamps has tree silhouettes that follow a circular curve on one side. The set of stamps also have flowers etc.
The card front has a Basic White card-stock panel that was laid onto the Blackberry Bliss card base and a hole was cut through both layers in the same spot using a Spotlight in Nature die. Then the Basic White panel was embossed with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. So love this Embossing Folder. A frame was cut using die that cut the hold and another one a step larger from the same die set
The cute truck from the Trucking Along stamps was stamped in Blackberry Bliss Classic ink and coloured with Stampin’ Blends including Blackberry Bliss, Berry Burst, Bubble Bath, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Pool Party combos. The little tree was stamped in Lost Lagoon ink and coloured with Lost Lagoon and Pool Party Blends combos. The truck was punched out with the coordinating punch and the tree was fussy cut.
The trees on the front of the card were coloured by blending Lost Lagoon ink onto Basic White card-stock. Water was flicked all over the blending to get colour variation. Once dry the trees were die cut with coordinating Encircled in Nature dies.
A sentiment from the Trucking Along stamp set was white heat embossed onto Blackberry Bliss card-stock. The final touch was to colour some Iridescent Foil Gems with the Dark Blackberry Bliss Blend and scatter them near the sentiment. Now you may think that there isn’t much Blackberry Bliss on this card, but wait …. When you open the card …
The card opens to show a bigger scene which is partially seen through the die cut hole. The trees were both stamped and stamped off in Blackberry Bliss ink. Also Blackberry Bliss ink was blended onto Basic White card-stock. It was a bit patchy and a little touch of Berry Burst was added near the top of the coloured section. As with the Lost Lagoon blending, the blended panel was splattered with water - both big and little splatters. When dry trees were die cut from this coloured section. While the blended panels were drying, the sky near the stamped trees was coloured with Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight inks. A light splattering of water was added to the sky blending. Once the Blackberry Bliss trees were adhered in place some extra splattering was added with White Craft ink and also using a Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker. But wait - there is more. This page opens the other way flipping over to the right.
Here is where one’s personal message will be written (although after all the effort of creating the card well, I always feel nervous writing in the card with my scrawl. A sentiment from Greetings of the Season was stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink. Some trees were also stamped in the lower corner with Blackberry Bliss ink and some light blending was also added. A C6 Basic White envelope

What a wonderful combination of stamp sets for such a creative card! Love your Festive Christmas scene, Andrea, and gee you are making the Encircled in Nature bundle hard to resist!
ReplyDeleteI so love this card, Andrea. The Blackberry Bliss trees inside the card look so beautiful through the aperture. Beautiful choice of colours, dies and embossing folder ... everything has come together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful details in this card Andrea, beautiful colouring of the truck, it really pops on the white background. The shading of the sky and all those trees and then it opens as a window card! Amazing!

ReplyDeleteA beautiful Christmas scene Andrea. I love how you have used different colours for the outside and inside trees and BB and Lost Lagoon go so well together. The twinkling twilight sky is a perfect backdrop to the darker trees.
